Learing Fact Takes Priority

Nowadays, students dedicate themselves in learning abstract ideas and concepts as well as pure fact. Some people put understanding ideas and concepts in the first way; however, in my opinion, fact is of the greatest importance for students, since fact is the source of all wisdom and for students, fact is easily to perceive.

First of all, we need to bear in mind that fact is the foundation of all the wisdom in human beings. Wise heads develop deep and profound ideas from the bare fact. Examples abound in history that Newton discovered the law of gravity when he saw an apple falling down onto the ground; Socrates established the primitive outlook from his daily observation of the life. What’s more, only in accordance with the changing fact can ideas and concept survive, that is to say, facts not only solidify theory but also keep the theory afresh. So essentially, facts are more important than ideas and concepts.

Secondly, facts are easy to perceive, and further, are more practical to learn. Compared with the easily-acceptable fact, you cannot deny that understanding ideas and concepts really lay heavy burdens on students. And what on earth are the serious ideas and concepts apply for? Is it practical enough for our social reality? Learning facts seems to giving students more acquaintance of the world.

In conclusion, I think it's far better idea to emphasize more on learning fact instead of understanding ideas and concept. Thus, students will be as flexible and creative as the ancient scholars who uncover wisdom from simple fact.
