The speaker asserts that the truly effective education should be specifically designed to satisfy each student’s individual needs and interests, and I agree with it in this point. However, the speaker limits the testing standards of truly effective education in a fix place and incorrectly think that there are only one way to evaluate whether a kind of education is effective or not. In my opinion, we should find a balance between the so-called specifically-designed education and the uniform and universal education.
Undeniably, the classified education can exactly promote individual development in order to develop one’s personality and cultivate one’s interest. Consider, for example, today’s college education in the United States. Every entitled student has the right to applicant for any major in any college and is able to evolve in any field which he or she dreamed for; even most of schools give the chances to the students who find themselves immune to their current majors to change into new ones. As a result, nearly every student can find their own space in sorts of studying and researching, obtain knowledge and skills quickly and easily, and serve the whole society better after their education. It is just the wise education policy that enables today’s creative academic atmosphere and prosperous society.
Simply put, if the education do not pay attention to educate students according to what they need and where they interest in, it may affect the choice of some industries and the freedom of knowledge. Consequently, there will be some people engage in some industries which they do not like even hate, and will endanger the stabilization of the society in the end.
Nevertheless, it is also important to intense the universal education, standardize national education system, especially in primary education. A striking example is the compulsory education in china which is enforced in the same measure by the nation, and this policy has made the young Chinese in every region prepared well for their future studying and career. So all-directed fundamental education is also a effective way to guarantee the development of high education of one nation.
Moreover, not every country in today’s world can afford the expense of education which aims at meeting everybody’s needs and interests, so it seems unreality and even some ridiculous to intense the student-directed education in the world still lacking due primary and universal education resources.
All in all, we should realize the importance of the education which devotes to meeting the individual needs and interests of each student, and more importantly, we should continue deploying popular and primary educations which will benefit our more citizens and found sound foundation of future education and the whole society.
