The article presents an idea that space travel is better to be operating by private enterprises rather than government. However, the professor in the lecture holds a different opinion.

Firstly, the article states that private operation can get down the price of space travel through market competition thus benefit not only tourists but also scientists. However, the professor points out that before wide-spreading space tourism being applied, a system to prevent collision has to be built up. Also, there are many tests need to be run to ensure the safety of space travel. The cost involved in developing and operating this system plus test will be highly enough to inhibit the price of space travel go down.

Secondly, the article believes that privatization of space travel can promote scientific research because of the combination of both government and company scientists. However, the professor thinks the outcome will be the reverse because as long as company willing to pay a high salary to hire researchers, many of scientists may give up their serious research and turn to commercial development of space travel. Thus finally weaken the quality of serious researches.

Thirdly, the article points out privatization could alleviate the burden of tax because private investors can use their fund while government expense wholly comes from tax. However, the professor hold the view that there are no investors could afford these costs themselves thus not likely to ease the situation.
