History, deemed as a mirror reflecting the total appearance of the past and telling us the reasons behind the progress, is worthy of all human kind studying and appreciating. However, when it comes to the benefit of the study of history, I concede that the chief benefit is that we can summarize experiences of ancestors, from which merits will still are preserved and transmission, while foibles will be deleted. So I partially agree with the claim of the author.

Admittedly, no one can deny that through careful study of history, we will ultimately find that during millions of years, basic nature of human being has not changed ever and merits of intelligence, diligence, creativity and so on are maintained as well. People, who have little interesting in studying history, always hold that compared with the forefathers, nowadays we own many advantages in height , intellectual and the like. However, they ignored that the inner spirit of human being is consist forever. Since Thomas Jefferson defined equality as human nature in Manifesto of Independence, this dogma has led the country fight numerous centuries, as we can find that numerous people, one after another, died for their dream of no king and slave, no master and servant, no rich and poor. Even today, most of us still harbor a hope that one day we can live in a realm without discrimination, restriction, and suffering. From the above, easily can we conclude that the study of history can help us realize coherence lying in all people no matter of different periods.

However, in my point of view, the study of history mainly assists us concentrating on the progress rather than the backward, the differences between the ancient and today. As the famous figure Bacon said:" history makes men wise." As long as we summarize the experience of the forefathers, we can make innovation in our times. If there is no failure in invention of the bulb, we may still live in dark when night falls or we may just utilize candles which can just make deeming light. History, recording the process of human evolution, provides us uncountable treasures not in material but also ideas. By studying history, we can predict certain outcomes of certain premise and to make effort to make them true.

In addition, the study of history is equally beneficial to understand and appreciate significant differences between different eras. Though studying history, we are aware that it takes huge hard to have a society with equal right today; we pay more attention to protect the cultural heritage; we draw a lesson from results of environment damage. All of these are paramount importance as I concerned.

In sum, the assertion that chief benefit of studying history is realize the similarity behind people in different period can hardly convince me. Even though I admit that human nature is unchanging, I should say everything is evolving and power to such evolvement is just the chief benefit of the study of history, to summarize experience of ancestors and then make innovation, to appreciate the existing society and life.

However, when it comes to the benefit（s） of the study of history, I concede that the chief benefit（one） is that we can summarize experiences of ancestors, from which merits will still are（be） preserved and transmission（and前后不一致,而且transmit可以配from？）, while foibles will be deleted.（从from开始的从句，感觉很怪异，而且这个从句完全没有必要） So（这里用so,前面那个concede是为了什么？这两句中间少掉一句话） I partially agree with the claim of the author.

楼主的破题点在于chief,这个立意不高，而且非常难写清楚，因为你不承认破除历史幻觉是chief,那么就要承认另外一个是chief,但是凭什么另外一个才是chief呢？仅仅是你自己的认为罢了，所以显得这篇文章非常的主观。况且这样论述点的展开有限，中间段的内容就只能有2部分组成：1.illusion不是chief, 2. sth 才是chief，然后就不可能有别的话题了。
