Personally, artist us a ability to further observe the world around us, so that we are able to enjoy the colorful image of the world by observing different kinds of object in different direction. Critic is the disputative group which evaluates works of arts such as novels, films, music, and the like and
shows us a more efficient way to searching for the precious artistic gold among all the unknown space. It is too hasty, in my opinion, to generalize that it is the artist, rather than the critic that give us a value which can be last for a long time. Both the artist and the critic is play an important role in the artistic field.

In the first place, I concede that the artist develops a way to inspire and create works that reflect the abstract angle of the long history and add some graceful aspects of our quotidian life. Artist is not saint, but they specially choose to manifest themselves in a rather difficult way, which is forgotten or left out by most human beings, and the artist reminds us something which once is regarded as the essence of human-being and now called art. What Beethoven had contribute to long-history of human would be an great example, he fond of music and like playing piano, unluckily, he suffered the blindness and deafness when he gradually grew up, everyone can image how painful he was and how disastrous it would be in his lately life, however, he kept going on and finally create several distinct concerto that not only shake the local area, but also the world, by using his mind, rather than his ears and hands. And this is maybe one of the greatest levels one could ever reach throughout the history.

On the other hand, critic can help us to excavate the elite of the arts and help us to understand and interpret it. However brilliant some artists may be, it may be dig out in a very difficult way for the reason that every field has its own dreg, which prevent us common people from finding the true elite of the art, thus come up the critic, the one who can be called must have some understanding of art and personal view which could be help up further observe the art and guide us through the core of works. Take the popularity of nonobjectivism for instance, at the beginning of the nonobjective works come up, few people understood it and inevitably the works may be seen as the dreg of the art. However, as more and more critics praise the internal impression and abstract of the nonobjective works, they became more and more prevalent and as a result, the nonobjectivism had become one of the important genres of art.

However we try to compare artist with critic, it is doubtless that the critic can never be replaced by the artist, because it is the artist who create the works and at the same time the critic who help us to discern the value of works, serve to be the filter which keeping the dreg from away. Moreover, critics' evaluation of art works serves as a prompt, helping the artists to develop themselves and their works. The case referring to the movie comments, and the impressionistic salon would be ideal example.

In sum, we should not over emphasize the preference between the artist and critic, both of which play a important role in art and develop a significant influence on another, the greatest works which are created by artists, evaluated by critics would surely become human treasure and catch much attention not only of contemporary people, but of the people who live after them.
