What is the responsibility of corporate executives? It must be conversable for publics and experts to discuss. Obviously, the speaker asserts the statement that the only one for these executives is to make as much money as possible for their companies. However, in my view, it is also important for the leaders to assume more other responsibilities, besides make more profits, in order to lead their companies grow healthy and rapidly.

There is no doubt to say that pursuing to maximize profits is the terminal goals for every company. After all, the origin and essential function and conception of company is to pursue interests, and that, as developing for hundreds of years, this purpose has never changed. As a result, profits play a crucial role on developing whatever company. So it is understandable that company leaders should assume the mission of maximizing interests by taking various measures, in the precondition that staying within the law depended on their determinations. How much profits a corporate gain is as a standard to judge the business capability of its executive. In other words, if a company leader can not component to make more profits to his or her company, then we can fundamentally conclude that this one failed in business, or at least, in operate the corporate. No matter what means the executives apply, such as meager and acquisitions like HP and Compaq, or other successful cases on developing company, the responsibility of CEO to maximize the more profits is more likely to be necessary and appreciation.

While such responsibility is the most crucial part of develop a company, however, the other missions such as making good influence on publics, keeping the social position, and so on, also occupy rather important position on bringing prosperity and health for a company. A company, especially large ones which developed well, often pays more attention on the politics, charity, or some other aspects. When they do these jobs, it is inevitably for them to make some influence on society. If executives can not control their companies to make active effects on publics, it is entirely possible to be harmful for development of our society.

In sum, we must admit the crucial position of making as more profits for company, but the executives should not fail to concern with the other responsibilities for maintain their corporate prosperity and development.
