6:If you could change one important thing about your hometown, what would you change? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

Although my hometown is beautiful and attractive in many ways, there are still things could be improved. If I could change one thing, I would choose to preserve more traditional houses. My hometown, known for its beautiful ice sculpture and the international ice festival in the winter, is lack of traditional buildings that are gorgeous enough to attract tourists. And the most of existing ones are not in good shape. The town is famous enough but this might not be so good for long if there are not attractive features in buildings.

First of all, the maintenance of existing ones is a serious problem. We usually classify the old houses according to its style and history, and put a label on it with brief introduction and classification. However, there are no professionals and specific measures to protect them at all. All too often we observe many traditional houses go to the end of their lives finally. Furthermore, there are some people who still live in the very old ones. It is possible that unexpected consequence happens to those who live there and even the houses itself.

Along with the maintenance problem, uncovering the other unknown historical houses is important. For example, we had the experience that a very important church was discovered among average houses. As far as I am concerned, it is advisable to collect information about buildings with history and sometimes even send specialists to check them. Also, a foundation should be provided for collecting the information and paying for the repairing costs.

My hometown is aching for traditional buildings. I believe that beautiful buildings are a crucial element in the town. By better maintenance and uncovering the town will finally be a place of beauty.
