In this argument, the author in favor of the policy that the Batavia government should begin to regulate retail milk prices in order to ensure both lower prices and an adequate supply of milk for consumers. The suggestion of the argument is grounded in the fact that the number of dairy farms has increased by twenty-five percent while the price of milk per gallon doubled. Though the assertion is seemingly reasonable and promotes the development of economics, the decision, in fact, suffers from several fallacies.

First of all, the fact that the increase of the number of farms cannot show that the whole size of milk farms has enlarged for the simple and apparent reason that the produce of all the milk farms includes not only the quantity of the farms but also the output of each farm. Due to the above possibility, it is understandable that the price doubled for the law of economics that when demand surpass the supply, the price of that commodity will upgrade. If the marker is like what I analyze above, then the policy is most likely to aggravate the contradiction between supply and demand. Simply put, it is unconvincing that only the number of the farms is provided with us.

Furthermore, there is another deadly shortcoming in the argument that the trend throughout the country cannot represent the tendency of the Batavia. It is possible and rational that the Batavia is opposed to the temptation of nation. What is more, when faced with the industry of milk, we all share a belief that its profit is low. Providing that the government regulate the price of milk per gallon, many farms may declare bankrupt which finally leads to insufficient supply and then put a negative effect on the daily life of the residents.

Finally, the author of the argument overlooks a crucial factor in the business that is the cost of product. We can see that there is a compare between nowadays and ten years ago, however, it is a common sense that money is always failing in value. During the ten years development of economic, it is normal that the cost of milk has climbed and because of that the price of milk should also increase.

To sum up, it is not convincing to persuade the officials of Batavia government for the insufficient in data and false analogy between the nation and ozone of Batavia. If the author provide with more evidence concerning the above fallacies, the argument will be stronger.
