How long is the best term for a leader? And what is the best way of a enterprise to keep success and energy? The speaker asserts that in any profession, leaders should step down after five years and the new leadership could assure its success. As far as I am concerned, the conditions are varied in different areas and also, there are still have many other ways to enhance the efficient of the enterprise except change the leader.
When it comes to politics and government, five years is a proper term for the enterprise to change its leader. As we all know, absolute power will lead to absolute corruption., in order to make sure the regulation of government and the country, it is necessary to elect a new leader after the old one have control the power for a long time. The best example in history is George Washington, the commander of American Revolution and the first president of United States, refused to run for the third term for president. By this decision and devoted services, he gained esteem of the whole country and became a symbol of American Virtue. As a result, the following presents in American all confirms this rule, which make American government one of the most effective and innovative government. On the contrary, if a leader have the power for a long time it is possible result in autocratic,dictatorship such as Hitler ruled German autocratically for many years, which is a vital factor of the second world war.
However, in the education realm, the longer a leader stay on his or her position the more effective and experience it will take in. As the accumulated of knowledge, the leader in education could have a better understand of his or her work, and could play a more important role in the field they stay.
When it comes to business, the condition is more different. We should separate the high-level leader and the low-level leader.
If the leader have sound manage skill and his or her ability is excellent, it is no need to change the leader who could keep and perform his or her policy consistent which could bring benefits to a company. To illustrate this , I would like pay attention to the famous mange Jack Welch,who is the successful executive in the world, and due to his brilliant and mange skill ,GE obtain a significant progress. If GE changed him five yeas later, it is certain that GE will not have the achievement today.
In addition, we should be aware of the fact that revitalization through new leadership is not the only way to success. It is no denying the fact that new person and leader will bring enterprise new idea , new motivation and passion which is more important for an enterprise to keep its strive and get success. However, There are still have other path to help an enterprise keep the pace of its competitors. Such as alter its structure and improve its policy, the most successful company in the word is always notice his creative and always change its products to content the customs needs.
In sum, in different areas, those in power facing different situations, we should consider other factors in the progress of an enterprise's success. Without the new leader, an enterprise will lose the creative and innovation, also without the old leader, the experience will can't be pass down. It is important to keep the two aspects in balance and take good use of both to enhance the effective of an enterprise. |
