Many teachers assign homework to students every day. Do you think that daily homework is necessary for students? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.（07.1.13）


After homework has already became a convention at schools all over the world, many people including members in Department of Education doubt about it's necessity nowadays. Under the pressure of too much homework, a growing number of students get mental disease or even suicide. However, if teachers can find a balance in studying and assign proper homework for students, I still deem daily homework is necessary for teenagers.

To begin with, no one can deny that reviewing is essential after learning. Scientific American reported that an object can't be remembered on the first sight, but if we can review it afterward for more than five times, it will be in our mind forever.
As a matter of fact, homework is a scientific way of helping students to consolidate what they have learned in the daytime. When I was a student, I quite enjoyed my homework time. After following practices step by step, it is easier to understand what teachers taught us in class and then they can be easy to remember.

Furthermore, teenagers are too young to control themselves for study. They don't have enough continence to review their class, that's why teachers assign homework helping them to accustom to reviewing after class. If there is no homework anymore, children will watch TV or play PC games instead of study at night. Honestly, my sister is a girl with agility, and she didn't like homework so much, but she had to finish them, Like she has to brush her teeth and wash her face everyday. Gradually, she accustomed to these things, and they became habit in her life. Now she is in college, a place full of freedom without homework. However, she enjoys going to the library and reviewing her class at night, and she is an excellent student after her hard work. Thanks to the homework in our youth, in which we've grasped of how to control ourselves and make efficiency in study.

Although many individuals complain about too much homework making bad effect on students' health growth, at the same time they also acclaim that homework taking up the space for children to develop their creativity, I can't imagine what students will be if they lack of homework after class. In my viewpoint, it is essential to descend pressure on study and assign adequate daily work for students.

All in all, it is no exaggeration to say that homework plays a crucial role for study. If we can find a more scientific and efficient way to assign homework, those debates about whether daily homework is necessary will be disappeared.
