Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People can learn more from watching television than reading books. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.(07.02.03)

When it comes to a vital topic of whether TV watching plays a more significant role than books reading, there are always different viewpoints among the general public in society. Even if we already have digital televisions at home, have you ever imagined a world without any book, including magazine, dictionary, and teaching book, etc. As a matter of fact, books play a crucial role in our daily life, that's why I strongly approve that we can learn anything we want from books rather than TV programs.

To begin with, book is a kind of tool for learning and grasping knowledge, but television just a tool for entertaining. For my honesty, in other words, books teacher us and television relax us. People can learn more from class or relax? No doubt, the answer is class. For instance, provided I want to learn Finance, it will be a waste of time if I sit on the sofa waiting for a grogram to talk about Finance. No one can deny that library or bookstore is the most suitable place to go, in which there are so many books talking about various aspects on Finance. Now I can understand why mother always let me read more books and watch less TV shows.

As we all know, review is helpful for grasping knowledge, as a matter of fact, books are designed for us to read, write and carry. We can't remember anything on the first sight, thanks for help of books, which make our reviewing convenient and efficient. For instance, dating back to our school life in class, we can always see a figure holding a book and writing on the blackboard, however, no one would teach students by TV programs. Students write note on books, finish assignment on books, and even draw on books. On the contrary, TV program is useful on people's spare time, mostly for fun.

Although with the rapid development of technology, families installed digital TV which include more than a hundred channels nowadays, it is obvious that books evolve faster than television. The golden age of television decayed, many people approach to radio and internet, however, the increasing number of bookstores and libraries shows the significance of reading books nowadays.

For the reasons presented above, I strongly incline to the perspective that we can learn more from reading books than watching television because book is our qualified teacher but television is a good playmate.
