TOPIC :Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more important for a teacher try to help students to gain self-confidence than to teach them specific knowledge. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer



Recently, there is a hot and essential controversy concerning on the argument whether it is more important for a teacher trying to help students to gain self-confidence than to teach them specific knowledge or not. A group of assume that it is more crucial for the students to have self-confidence than to have the special knowledge ,since if the students are full of self-confidence in mind, they can interact with others freely in public ,also self-confidence can help students overcome the troubles in front of them. However, others hold the opposite idea by saying that the specific knowledge can help students find a job easily and solve the social pressure of high unemployment .Although the specific knowledge is necessary for students stepping into the society, i believe that more essential to help the students gaining the self-confidence is than the specific knowledge.

First of all, a student who is self-confident, have active attitudes in social interaction .Firstly, the self-confident students are likely to take part in courses of school and all of which will take students lots of chances of interacting and learning with others .However, other student who are lack of the self-confidence don not want to talk with somebody else for afraid of making mistakes. Secondly ,according to the recent survey ,most of the successful people of every domain achieved education of self-confidence at their child age .Just like one of them goes "the most valuable possession in my life is the self-confidence that i learned by the help of my teacher in my school age".

Also ,another reason ,why it is more important for teacher helping students gaining self-confidence than specific knowledge ,is that self-confidence can speed up students' learning ,because the self-confident people believe themselves are able to win and they don not afraid of lost .taking myself as an example ,self-confidence is source of my power raising me up. When I do experiments in chemical class, my classmate, Eric who lacks of self-confidence, never want to try to do any jobs. since he assume that he will be fail if he do .However, I catch up every chance to test my thoughts about the experiments ,moreover I believe nothing can confuse me and even if the worst trouble i can work it out .In the end of my exam, I achieve the top score but eric get the lowest.


Whereas, we can not deny the benefits of teacher helping the students gaining the specific knowledge .Nowadays, it is hard for graduated students to get a job, because of the graduates lack the specific knowledge which is necessary for them hunting job .if we want to solve the problems, we must stress the importance of students learning specific knowledge at school .So, if take it into execution, both of the students and the society will be harvest.

Although there are a couple of advantages if teacher help students gain specific knowledge, I firmly believe there is more benefits from the aspect of teachers helping students gaining self-confidence helping students gaining specific knowledge .Since self-confidence is the key of interacting with other and obtaining knowledge from outside .these two aspects convince me that a teacher try to help students to gain self-confidence more important than to teach them specific knowledge.
