我感觉第二段有些跑。

According to the speaker, he/she claims that people primarily define themselves through their identification with social groups. As far as I am concerned, albeit the speaker's statement is not entirely supported by empirical experience, I still generally agree with that position because such identification with social groups truly serves effectual purposes for each individual.

To begin with, it is fundamentally believed that people do rely on their identification with social groups to define themselves. Thanks to those identifications with certain social groups, people can further understand their own roles and responsibilities gradually. In the first place, people would identify themselves with those at the similar ages. Actually, when communicating with such social group, people would find more similarities and consistency with others, which surely propel their individual identity. For example, children always play with classmates, study with friends or even quarrel with each other. Apparently, those relative activities directly enhance their identity. Secondly, people would identify themselves with those owning same hobbies. Admittedly, a handful of same interests, tastes and the like would veritably intensify one's connection with others. Numerous soccer fans, basketball fans, music fans and the forth would assemble together to enjoy matches or concerts. In such passionate circumstances, those fans would recognize themselves far more clearly. Thirdly, people would identify themselves with those in same class. Since those who stay in same class would share similar reputation, similar salary and similar occupation, certain kind of organization such as party, salon and community eventually spring out. Therefore, people traditionally identify themselves with other people in relative social groups.

Secondly, empirical experience dedicates that such identification is extremely necessary for one's psychological requirements and physiological requirements. As a matter of fact, people inevitably require tons of safety and belongingness in psychology and physiology. On the one hand, people need grasp psychological belongingness from certain identity. According to Maslow, a famous psychologist, each person have to satisfy one's own need of belongingness through those identification with certain social groups. When people are identified with a social group, such as a national party, a regional organization or even certain fans groups, they would earn huge amounts of belongingness which is crucial for their mental health. On the other hand, people need obtain safety from such definition of themselves. In retrospect, human beings are naturally gregarious species.
Each individual has to prevent himself/herself from being hurt through subjected to certain groups. Such connection turns to be certain identification in modern times which is regarded as a vital source for one's sense of security. Thus, accounting for foregoing purposes of one's identification, such process is truly required in everyone's daily lives.

Finally, however, I cannot totally agree with the speaker's statement because it seems to overlook couple of people who fails to identify themselves with others. Indubitably, a sizeable number of people would either reject to make such identification or fail to achieve it. For one thing, it is especially hard for a handful of scientist or thinkers to obtain such identification. Since they are too elusive or too talented to belong to a social group, they might always hardly define themselves through such identification. For instance, Kant, a famous philosopher several hundred years ago, totally failed to find a person who was able to understand and talk with him successfully. For another, some secluded people would refuse to make such identification. Obviously, still a lot of people are immanently secluded who are unwilling to make contrast with others and rarely attribute to any social groups. Backpackers are just ones in point. They usually pack everything in a bag and tramp around the world alone without friends, parents and other counterparts. Hence, it is impossible for some people to identify themselves with other social groups.

To sum up, I concede that people traditionally identify themselves with relative social groups in order to further define themselves, whilst such process also exert pivotal influence on one's stable growth. Yet, some exceptional people cannot be ignored because they will hardly achieve such identification. In fact, we should reconsider such process more cautiously and more modestly rather than emphasize it unconditionally.
