For the past 30 years,China has grownfastly in the development of both economy and education. As the proportion ofstudents entering college becomes higher year by year, there has been a heatdebate that whether teachers should be paid according to their students’performance. Being a teacher for five years myself, I strongly hold the viewthat teachers’ salaries should not be fixed just upon the students’ score intests as follows.

To begin with, in most stiuations, students’performance is usually equal to their testing scores. It is too superficial toevaluate teachers’ work according to the scores rather than their comprehensivequality. For example, to get a ideal score, students need long time knowledgeaccumulation and numerous practice in some subjects, such as Chinese andEnglish, while others only need to make effert at the last moment, such ashistory and politics. Under this circumstance, it is unfair to pay teachers onthe basis of students’ testing marks. There are also other factors related tostudents’ performance in certain course, their interests, teacher’srequirement, their efforts, etc. In brief, only considering teachers’ workcomprehensively can appraisement be fair and equatible.

In addition, paying teachers based on students’performance may make teachers assign more homework which increases students’burden and occupies their leisure time. Once in many high schools, teachers’annual bonus is really related to students’ testing marks. However, the resultis that most students feel nervous and intense about study as they have tospend most time in doing homework and reciting texts. Since there is no time todo exercise or sports, it is adverse for both their physical and psychologicalhealth in the long run.

To sum up, since the ultimate goal of educationis to develop students’ comprehensive quality, we should not evaluate teachers’work just according to students’ performance in certain subject. What we shouldfocus on is teahcers’ ability and characteristic.

最近工作忙,复习时间少了很多,给自己加油一下,坚持!!!!!
