We are rapidly nearly nearing the end of this course in the histroy classical music. We have covered several centuries in very short time, much too short to do the music justice of course but this is a surface course. For now until the end of the term, we will be talking about and listening to the electronic music. You've (probly) probably already know it was in the 1950's that music computers and (sefecises) synthesizers first appeared in universities.The first commercial (sephcises will solve this type) synthesizers was sold about this time too. The sophistications and complexity in this(of these) instruments has now increased to the point that they can produce almost any kind of sounds. Some alarmists believe that this new insturment will bring (a damn) an end to the classical music or they already have. You know i don't share this view, so (though?)i agree we are in the mist of revolution (and) in instrument designs. This, however, is not the 1st such evolution in music histroy,and (probly) probably not the last neither. Remember we've already (started) studied the similar case in the early 90's century, when the (played the artcical and modern instruments) the piano replaced harpsichord and modern brass and wind instruments came into being. One of the most important reasons for the great popularity in of the electronic instruments is of course they're relatively cheap price. Well, just look at it, only about 400 dollars for an electronic keyboard compared to nearly 3,000 dollars for a piano. Naturally, this has (is) done a great a lot to increase sales of (in the) electronic instruments. But i don't don't think even the most ardent supporters of electronic instruments, expect them to completely replace the (cool's day) acoustic instruments.
