However, the difference between the two terms is increasingly becoming the focus of artist and critic concern around the culture circles. Relatively, more attention has been paid on the value what artist created and the influence what artist produced.


It comes to no surprise that the artist is an artist, who can be such a group of persons, who pursue a practical science, traditionally medicine, astrology, chemistry, who pursue typically disciplines such as music, literate, dram, film, painting, photography, and so on. In the process of pursuit and creating art, artists bring many benefits to the society.

First of all, artist, who spread culture by virtue of art, is a spreader. For example, people can know the culture and history concerned that society where Shakespeare lived by reading his dram. Moreover, people can know the mainstream elements and value inclination of certain society in some era from novels and music and panting. Undoubtedly, those works left by artists are the fortune for the whole society. Secondly, it is an obvious fact that when artist demonstrated art, they had created some new art form and increased new cultural conception, thought as well as perception. The development of society is invisibly propelled by those things that has lasting vale, which created by artists. Thirdly, positive culture and art will advance development of civilization.

Artist is not only an artist but a critic. It is thought that there is an explanation for this. First, demonstrating art is a process of study, in which artists often have their understandings and perceptions, which is inevitable and is a result of comment. Hence, artist is a critic at first, then an artist. However, critic is only a critic, who just comments the attributes, contents and significance of art.

In conclusion, those brought lasting value are artist but critic. Artist, through works of art, provides an invaluable and unique mirror of culture of the era during which the works were produced. Modern artists and future generations can gaze into for insight and appreciation of history. Critic, who is a subordinate role, evaluates the value of arts.
