　　由于这样或者那样的原因，东西方人的思维方式之间有一定的差异，而这些不同就是通过不同的语言表现出来：

　　If you are interested in gymnastics, the university has an outstanding team.I can't even climb the stairs withoutshavingsto stop and catch my breath.

　　第一个人说：'如果你对体操感兴趣的话，学校里有个不错的体操队。'其言外之意即给第二人提了个醒，'你想去参加吗？'第二人的回答是：'我爬楼梯还得停下来喘几口气呢！'

　　同样道理，我这里还有几个上乘佳句，大家可以从中进一步体会美语的妙处：

　　1. Don't you just love the cold winter day?

　　你喜欢冬天么？

　　I sure do. Unfortunately, it doesn't like my skin.

　　当然。但是，我的皮肤不喜欢。

　　言外之意：我是不喜欢这个冬天。

　　2. Can you come over for dinner tonight?

　　今晚你能过来吃饭么？

　　I'm up to my ears in work, so I'll have to take a rain check.

　　我工作忙的要死，所以能不能下次再说？

　　留两句不错的对话给大家：

　　I need to find a psychologist(心理学家). You're familiar with Dr. Smith, do you recommend her?

　　Well, I've been seen by her a few times. And the best I can say for her is she has interesting magazines in her waiting room.

　　Man: I would go to the end of the world for you.

　　Woman: Yes, but would you stay there?

　　Let's go watch the fireworks(烟火) tonight.

　　I have tickets to the theatre.
