"The chief benefit of the study of history is to break down the illusion that people in one period of time are significantly different from people who lived at any other time in history."

As all we known, history is a very important subject, and it has many advantages to guide our modern life. Researching history can break down the illusion that people in one period of time are significantly different from people in another period. While, it is not the chief benefit which makes many historist to study this subject. In my opinion, there are two more important advantages: modern people can gain experience of dealing questions from ancestor, and know the formation of a culture.
To be honest, history lets us to know there is not so many differences amang the people in different period of time. Because we cannot experience the life of every age, the wrong concept-people in different period of time is absolutely different-exists in our mind. However, what is the truth? The study of history gives us a specific answer. Differences is existent, but not so big. For example, the structure of people's diet has seldom change from long time ago. In immemorial period, human beings hunted and ate the meat of quarry, and thousands of years ago, human beings began to plant cereal. While, in modern society, the meat and cereal are still the main food. There are many many same points, and those become tridition even custom. How can we know these same points? The history tells us.
But, is it the chief thing that the study of history gives us? No. The main factors of researching history are obtaining previous experience and having knowledge about culture of other periods of time.
In the process of studing history, we often read some references, which is wrote by people in that period. These references record some famous people, some signifacant affairs. From those references, we can attain much experience about dealing some big affair. Society is not always going forward, forward better, sometimes it were back up. And in those condition, predecessors did many work to make the society develop to right diction. Of crouse, some work is in vain, and even leads a contrary result. But, all of these are precious wealth for our modern society. Therefore, the first important benefit of the study of history is to obtain this experience.
The another most important benefit is to know more about culture of other periods of time. In modern society, the science and technology develops faster and faster, and people's pace of life is also going faster. Most of people are busy in their work or study, and sometime they will feel so tierd. In this time, maybe a Debussy's <Clair de Lune> can relaxes their mind. But, how can Debussy compose the <Clair de Lune>? The historists who study the history of western music can give us an exact answer. And how many people know the orgin of Hallowmas or Thank-giving Days? The study of history also can give us the answer. So, if we want to know something about a old culture or want to find the orgin of tridition, researching history is our one and only choice.
There are so many benefits of the study of history. Breaking down the illusion that people in one period are significantly different from people in othe period is just one of advantage of researching history. On my view, the two of most important benefits of the study of history are to gain predecessors' experience and wisdom, and to know much more about culture in other era.

总体感觉：总体感还是不错的。但第二段的论证有些不充分；第四段也是不是可以举一些具体的例子呢。第五段的论证还不错。

还是有单词错误，放word里找找改吧，我就不一一改了。
