TOPIC: ARGUMENT51 - The following appeared in a medical newsletter.

"Doctors have long suspected that secondary infections may keep some patients from healing quickly after severe muscle strain. This hypothesis has now been proved by preliminary results of a study of two groups of patients. The first group of patients, all being treated for muscle injuries by Dr. Newland, a doctor who specializes in sports medicine, took antibiotics regularly throughout their treatment. Their recuperation time was, on average, 40 percent quicker than typically expected. Patients in the second group, all being treated by Dr. Alton, a general physician, were given sugar pills, although the patients believed they were taking antibiotics. Their average recuperation time was not significantly reduced. Therefore, all patients who are diagnosed with muscle strain would be well advised to take antibiotics as part of their treatment."

Grounding on the study of two groups of patients who suffer from muscle injuries, the group which regularly take antibiotics tend to recuperate quicker than those who are free from taking them, the author comes to the conclusion that all muscle injuried patients whould be well advised to take antibiotics as part of their treatment.

The study shows that the patients in one group which are provided with antibiotics regularly are prone to recuperate faster than the second group who are only offered with sugar pills. Persuasive as it seems, the author virtually features some flaws one submitted to further examination.

First of all, as the doctor's healing skill plays a significant role in determine the rate of healing of patients, the author fail to provide the detailed information about the backgroud of the two doctors, so we cannot rule out the possiblity that patients in the second group are cured by a poorly qualified and a young doctor, while the patients in the first group are more fortunate that they meet an eminent and experienced doctor.

On the second floor, besides the regularly treatment with antibiotics in the first group, the doctor who is specilized in sports medicine, may also combine the supplement of both antibiotics and other effective medicine in curing muscle strain. Meanwhile, the Dr. Newland in the first group may assign the patients to exert some mild and appropriate sports for them to assis the recuperation of the patients while the second group don't.

Moreover, the patients' situation of muscle injuries of the two group may not be so identical as the author doesn't take into consideration. And also the corporeity of the two group may not be the same for the lack of information that author overlooks to provide. However these two factors are so indispensable in the recuperation of patients. Imagine that the former group's patients are just injuried a bit and they have a strong building, while the latter group's patient are injuried badlly and also only possess a weak body, then the former ones would possibly recuperate more faster than the latter ones.

In conclusion, the author should bolster his statement in more detailed analysis of each group situation in advance. All factors like the background and the skills of each doctor and the injuried situation body condition of each of them are deemed to be focused on. Only by illustrating all the factors can the author give the conclusion ultimately or it will be susceptible be be biased.

Grounding on the study of two groups of patients who suffer from muscle injuries, the group which regularly take antibiotics tend to recuperate quicker than those who are free from taking them, the author comes to the conclusion that all muscle injuried patients whould(would) be well advised to take antibiotics as part of their treatment.

The study shows that the patients in one group which are provided with antibiotics regularly are prone to recuperate faster than the second group who are only offered with sugar pills. Persuasive as it seems, the author virtually features(?) some flaws one submitted to further examination.(这一句好奇怪~)

First of all, as the doctor's healing skill plays a significant role in determine the rate of healing(改为healing置前,少写一个of) of patients, the author fail(s) to provide the detailed information about the backgroud of the two doctors, so we cannot rule out the possiblity that patients in the second group are cured by a poorly qualified and a young doctor, while the patients in the first group are more fortunate that they meet an eminent and experienced doctor.

On the second floor, besides the regularly treatment with antibiotics in the first group, the doctor who is specilized in sports medicine, may also combine the supplement of both antibiotics and other effective medicine in curing muscle strain. Meanwhile, the Dr. Newland in the first group may assign the patients to exert some mild and appropriate sports for them to assis(?) the recuperation of the patients while the second group don't.

Moreover, the patients' situation of muscle injuries of the two group may not be so identical as the author doesn't take into consideration. And also the corporeity(似乎谑语才有体格的意思吧) of the two group(s)  may not be the same for the lack(ing) of information that author overlooks to provide. However these two factors are so indispensable in the recuperation of patients. Imagine that the former group's patients are just injuried a bit and they have a strong building, while the latter group's patient are injuried badlly(badly) and also only possess a weak body, then the former ones would possibly recuperate more faster than the latter ones.

In conclusion, the author should bolster his statement in more detailed analysis of each group situation in advance. All factors like the background and the skills(skills) of each doctor and the injuried(injured) situation (and) body condition of each of them are deemed to be focused on.(此处不通) Only by illustrating all the factors can the author give the conclusion ultimately or it will be susceptible be(or) be biased.
