Nowadays, maybe we always hear the statement of many people that they have no choice but to obey the rules determined by others. But what I must say about choice is somehow as the speaker says, that is, most of the time we can choose from the choices confronted us despite some rare exceptions.

What is the meaning of a choice? We may define it as “to make a certain decision, with a comprehensive comparison, between a series of uncertain options”. In the past, people, if wanted to travel somewhere else, only had the choice of horse riding or carriage, maybe hiking if to the nearby area. But with the booming development of our society, we now enjoy a variety of transportation means: bike, train, subway, plane, car ets. What is more, some choices only exist in modern society. Take the case of women, which group did not have the right to wear trouseres almost a hundred years ago; and rarely have the chance to receive education, let alone the right to vote and voted. Hence we human beings can not ignore the choice if living within the society.

Every individuals have so many choices. For a student as me, we have to choose when to get up, by which mean do we go to school, what breakfast do we want to take, which school do we attend, what curriculum do we choose, which sports do we prefer to take , who do we want to make friend with, and what efforts do we make. These are only some aspects we can choose, everyday we can make mass choices, even can make different choices when face the same situation again.(93)
Hower, there are also some objective situations everyone can not overlook that with no choice despite the absence of choice is a condition considered very rare. The most obvious case is natural phenomenon. It is common sense that the sun goes up from the east and down in the west. That is objectively existing beyond the choice of even the most brilliant mind. Besides, some life laws of human can also not under one's choice. As one' birth, aging, illness and death (here we do not take the euthanasia into consideration). (91)
Although we admit the existence of the absence of choice, some cases about lacking choice are just because people do not want to make choice, that is to say, the absence is not true. Mostly, these cases are just the choices do meet the expectation of people or not appealing enough. Expecially when the choice concern with the interest and desire, people get easily trapped. Besides, one can also choose to be strong no matter how the inborn disable left little choices to him. Theodore Roosevelt, formal president of America, born with a life-threatening disease. He did not stay despondently but instead chose to change his life with diligence and became an admired leader of his country. So making a choice or not varies from person to person. (128)
A complete lack of choice can only indicate that people's fate is only determined by others except ourselves and we human beings will not have free will. This ridiculous idea erase the effort human make to progress. Since everyone has one's own mind and owns the right which the law due to make choice in most subjective situation, what human can do is to make the right choice and hold the fate on one's own other than complain the absence of choice.(82)
