In order to keep pace with modern technology and academic progress, some people claim that every professor in the college and university should spend some time in relevant working with their professions in outside academic world. It is true that in some fields, relevant real working experiences for the professors could bring some advantages, not only for himself/ herself, but for the students who attend to the class. However, even the advantages are provided, it does not mean that entire faulty in colleges and universities should working outside academic world in their relevant curriculums without any exception.

Admittedly, the real world experience which relevant to their majors will improve the faculty’s understanding of the courses they teach, meanwhile offer the fresh insights and newest information about the subject in hand. Recently the New York undergraduate research center made a random survey of 1,000 freshmen in colleges of New York, which major in business and management. About 90% of them support their tutor and teacher do some practice in relevant corporations or banks. They claim that more interesting and understandable teaching ways are given by professor who has practical experience in relevant professions than others; Besides, working experience in relevant professions puts them into a better position to help their students adjust from campus to the job market, what is more, provide more opportunity of [url=]internship[/url] for the students.

However, redundant outside work may do some harm to the professor’s instruction as well. As we all known, one person’s energy is limited, if he spend much time and energy on his/her private business or works, the energy on other considerations would be cut down. As for a professor, if too much energy has to spend on other business or works out side the university, the less care and endeavor on instruction are should be taken, even if the works which the professor did have close relationship with professions. For example, most teachers disallow students doing homework while they are watching TV since the simple reason that watching TV could distract children, and then decrease the quality of study. The same is true for professors’ instruments.

Furthermore, there are insufficient practical conditions for all academic professors in real world. Can you image that all professors who major in politics fill of our government? And how many positions should be provided for the entire professors who major in computer science in our computer business? Since there are no adequate positions available, especially in global depression, the opinion that let all professors to go out for getting real-world experiences is hard to achieve.

Moreover, as for some academic subjects, like history, literature and ancient linguistic, the practicing experiences in outside of the world is unnecessary. Since the main purpose for obtain more sufficient real-world experiences is the improving of instruments’ quality. Yet, different attributes of every subject determine the dissimilar researching means which their professor adopted in fact. For example, as for the professors who teach ancient history, the best way for them to improve their teaching quality and obtain more academic achievement on his/ her field is concentrate on the book materials in libraries.

In conclusion, add to some experiences which relevant the professors’ instruments would enhance the quality of the course, and provide more knowledge to students. However, it does not suit for every subjects and all faulty, especially history, ancient linguistic, literature, etc. Moreover, the balance between academic researching and teaching and working outside need more attention in fact.
