I disagree with the author's assertion, which assert above, actually the view that understanding of the past provides is very useful for our present lives has shown it to be true throughout the history. It is not to say that we could ignore the innovation and present civilization. But respect the past is very important to guide our lives' every facets as a result of its unsuccessful experience, essential functions and painful lessons.

People always say that failure is the most important step of successful, which means that everybody could obtain useful experience and knowledge when they fail. For instance, after times and times' failure, the Tomas Edison invent the incandescent light finally. The fail experience always provides us not only motivation, but also many mistakes which we could never make them again. Every time when we take the exercise, if we do it all correct, we cannot understand what the deficient of us. By Contrast, if we make mistake we could find our short and it also helpful for us to solve many other similar questions.

As a mirror, which reflect the past of each subject, history is not only provide us fail experience; it is the base of any facet of our society. Any subject, which content science, philosophy and art, needs the past knowledge to progress. Take Columbus as a point. Without forerunner's marine experience, he cannot find the American new land. Another point of case I could point is physics, almost every theory is built based on the formers', which proof that the society, as a whole, need accumulate formers' discovery to make further research.

Last but not least, the serious mistakes, which the human ever made must consider as an permanent lessons in order to alert the present society and as a crucial profits for future. Take the Second World War as a example, we could never forget the destroy that it made in history. Obviously, It would be only more badly are the individuals trend to forget the history.

Admittedly, we also need to suit for the contemporary society's rhythm. The quickly changing due to the technology improving demand us to learn more innovation and new knowledge. Just like the knowledge of computer, if we do not master the basically operate of the computer, we even could do nothing in present society.

Talking into account of these factors, we may draw the conclusion that as a consequently of the history's unsuccessful experience, essential functions and painful lessons. We need understand the past as well as possible to guide our lives in the present.

As far as I am concerned, I tend to disagree with the speaker’s view points because human’s lives are always benefited by their looking back for a understanding of the past throughout the history.(原文明显的病句) It is not to say that we could ignore the innovation and present civilization.
