Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more important for students to study history and literature than it is for them to study science and mathematics. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

In the modern world, what intellegence to the society is what water to fishes, so what kind of knowledge plays an more important role to students, the future intellegence, history and literature or science and mathematics? From my point of view, both of  the two type of knowledge are critical to nowdays youth, and either of them can not take a more vital role than the other one can, since the swiftly developing society calls for both of them equally.

First, both of the branches of science are unalienable in our daily life. We can not survive in the modern world lack of either of the two kind of knowledge. Take reading skills as an example, we can  not buy appropiate stuff without reading the directions on the coat of a purchase. There had been international students bought pets food for themselves for the reason that they can not read the directions on the products and then such jokes happened on them. And science possesses the same status as literature does.

Second, social science of literature and history is no more essential than natural science such as sicence and mathematics, and vice visa. Interdisciplines had been appeared and popular in recent years, not only in the branches of history or mathematics themselves, but also between the areas of social science and natural science.   

'Even both of the knowledge are important to the society, why should they be of the same importance to students? Rather than some students learn history and literature as the rest take science and mathematics as their major?' As for s I am concerned, the development of the modern society demands people of integrate knowledge structure, which means each of the students is obliged to skilled in both kind of knowledge. For example, software engeneers need to make presentations introducing their newly published product, and background in history and literature could be an enormous aid for attracting customers. What is more, mathematic tools are now used in the research of linguistics in analyse the statistics of words and sentences and so on. To be an outstanding person, a student has better pay attention to not only literature and history but also science and mathematics.

In conclusion, the devoloping modern world calls for people skilled in every aspect, resulting that had it been without either of history and literature, the so called social science or science and mathematics students, student could not be successful ones.
