Almost all the realms from education to politics, the first thing people considering is whether it has value. Education, in today’s world, becomes increasingly practical. In campus, students are likely to choose some professions they can benefit after graduation even though these subjects betray their interests. The income of the professor of technology is higher than of the professor of artistic because the technology has more value in this modern world. Politics, leaders have to try their best to make their prosperous and better demonstrate it, the election, candidates will speak in public that he or she will cut the tax, protect citizens’ right, enhance workers’ salary and so on to pander his or her citizen, the direct effect is he or she will win the election. Technology, for example, the renew of transportation cost people less time from one place to another, the communication systems make people can communicate with each other anytime and any place. Even the art, which people are likely to believe that it is idealism, becomes practical in this modern society. Novelists would like to write some works that attract more readers, so the emotion novels are enormous. Drawers draw some work depends on whether it can sell a higher price. Therefore, all the things we take action we intend to judge their Practical value.

However, before we assert anything that it is not practical has little value, we must figure out has something little value? I believe the practicality is a relative concept, practical and unpractical can exchange in different people, different circumstances, different periods. Diamonds, for example, although it has no practical value, not anyone can afford it. It presents the noble, class and identity to some rich people, so diamond has practical value to those people. The first computer, which was so big and heavy, predecessors thought it had no value, however, with the development of science technology, computer becomes smaller and smarter, it must surprise them if they could see computers already walk into people’s life. Some stones may have no value, if they are in sculptors hands, they can create titantic value. Finally analysis, anything has its own value, we can change the so-called unpractical thing into practical one.

In sum, in the process of human history, people have been endeavoring to pursue for practicality to propel the advancement of society. Meantime, when we pursue for the practicality, we have been exploring any value things including the contemporary unpractical things.
