I am pleased to confirm your appointment as a Research Assistant (RA) to support the pursuit of your dissertation or degree research in *******.  This initial appointment will be at 33-1/3% for the month of September 2007 and 50% for the period October 1, 2007-June 30, 2008.  It is possible that this appointment could be renewed and it is anticipated that you will be funded during the duration of your Master’s program but it is contingent upon funding availability, program needs and satisfactory performance.  You will receive another appointment confirmation letter from us if this appointment is renewed.

Stipends generally increase beginning July 1 of each year.  Stipends for the period July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008 are not known at this time but will not be lower than $1,026 for September or $1,540 per month for October 2007 through June 2008.

Health Insurance: you are eligible to participate in the Graduate Assistant Health Insurance program.  There are deadlines for enrollment.  Upon arrival you will need to contact****

Remission of Nonresident and Resident Tuition: you will receive remission of resident or nonresident tuition.  The tuition remission does not include segregated fees, which each term, will be your responsibility.
