The only effective way to encourage energy conservation is by increasing prices of gasoline and electricity

1．Develop new energy conservation technology. Solar energy, nuclear energy, wind, tides etc.
2．Build the idea of energy conservation through out the world. Air-condition the room only in use, carpool or use public transportation more often-subway, buses, life the plug of appliance when it is not in use (safe and save electricity), or slightly darken the computer screen-make your eye feel comfortable, and also help to save energy. Switch off the lamb, instead of leaving a light on, purchase the energy efficient appliance when replace the old ones.
3．Government should draw laws to regulate on higher energy consumption and ruthless punishment for wasting energy if necessary.

Increasing the prices of gasoline and electricity may be a useful way to encourage energy conservation. But does it the only way to energy saving? Perhaps not! As far as I am concerned, there are other effective methods by which we may easily access to lower the consumption of energy, such as developing new energy saving technology, building ideas of lower energy using among people and placing relative laws to control the wasting.

Primarily, for the long term strategy, we are required to develop new technology for energy conservation. In fact, experts have already pointed out that humankind will use up all the irreproducible energy resources like coals or oils in the nearing 50 years. That might be an alarm for us to be aware and inform us to put more effort on exploiting or developing new energy resource such as solar, wind, tide, or nuclear energy generator which enables us to get easier access to utilize according to their never exhaust character. In a sense that, I firmly believe that if we fully utilize such kind of resources, our problem would definitely be fixed due to their reproducible quality.

Going forward, anther preferred choice I think is to build the idea of energy conservation throughout the society. That is to say people could save energy by their own hands. For examples, Why not carpool and use public transportation such as buses, and subways more often if you just have a short trip? Why not air-condition the room only in use or swithch off the lamb instand, leaving a light on? Why not lift the plug of appliance when it is not in use regarding its saving energy, and as the same time providing you the safety environment. Why not purchase the energy efficinet appliance when replace the old one, which would also save your daily expenditure?  Why not slightly darken the brightness of your computer screen as the time implemented energy-saving effective, it also makes your eyes feel comfortable. I strongly recommend  aboves because these tips in people’s daily life are more practical than increasing prices for energy conservation.

Last but not least, our government should set up relative laws to regulate the consumption on energy, especially for energy wasting. In another words, ruthless punishments are quiet necessary so that it could let industry factory make a sense to use electricity or gasoline in a right and effective way. Therefore, by this way, big-energy consumption factory are forced to control itself of energy using in  productions and as the same time it would increase their profit. Why not?

All in all, although higher prices does do some effort on building the idea of energy conservation, other ways also plays a pivotal role in saving energy. Consequently, I don’t agree increase the energy prices is the only way for us to using energy rightly and effectively due to the all factor I have indicated above.

Although increasement of prices of gasoline and electricity is an efficient way to conserve energy,as it could lead consumers to use less energy on the economic aspect ,it is not the only one.Other policies could work as well,such as efficiency impromotion , decreasing of energy waste and new resources development.

In today’s world,scientists are trying their best to find a way to improve the efficiency of energy, which means using less gasoline and fuel to provide more power. Every year new cars with the concept of energy conserving are manufactored by companies around the world .It is a trend that all the electronical machines and householding appliances in the future will consume very little energy.

Another way for energy conservation is they should be achieved by the mess media to arouse the awareness of energy emergency. According to the recent survey,a large proportion of energy are wasted during people’s lives because of the unproper habit of using electricity. For example, one may forget to close the air condition when he/she walk outside with family after supper. If there are more exhibitions organized and more TV programs held on the topic of energy shortage which tell people what would happen if all fuel on the earth are burned out , I believe that everyone would become self-discipline in using energy.

Last but not least,finding alternative energy to substitute fuel ,gasoline is another accessible way.Such energy resource like wind and sunshine which are inexhaustible and nuclear power which has a good prospect should be developed to solve the energy starvation.

Based on the methods discussed above, there are not only one road we can go, we need to do everythings we can to build an energy-conserving society.
