5."A nation should require all its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college rather than allow schools in different parts of the nation to determine which academic courses to offer." 5. 一个国家应该要求所有的学生在上大学前都学习相同的课程,而不应该允许不同地区的学校擅自决定自己的教学领域。
Disagree:
1.  On the one hand, a national curriculum contributes to preserving a unified national culture and national cohesion.
2.  Furthermore, a general curriculum designed by authority rather than local schools avoids limiting students to a narrow scope of knowledge too early.
3.  On the other hand, in a multi-cultural country, opportunities should be given to different ethnic communities to preserve and promote their own traditional cultures.

Many people consider it reasonable that a nation rather than the schools in different parts of the nation determines which academic courses the students ought to learn while others hold that devoid of any local courses except national curriculum may cause negative effects.

On the one hand, a national curriculum contributes to preserving a unified national culture and national cohesion. As is known to all, a group of people who have something important and common to share may be called a nation. If a nation has not predominant thought or values, it may well be assimilated by the others; meanwhile, education is the best way to cultivate these common leading thought or values. Taking China as an example, although it is a multi-race country, it unified different races into an organic body by conveying common history, arts and responsibility for the future of nation in the daily curricula. China, a distinctive nation, is striving for her future under the leading values, and national cohesion is embodied by all Chinese combined as one person.

Furthermore, a general curriculum designed by authority rather than local schools avoids limiting students to a narrow scope of knowledge too early. View of individuals alters correspondent with his academic and living backgrounds, so a educationist in one local area may design a course with local characters or bias. As a response, his students may be affected by that views and lose a general scope in national level. Furthermore, if one student glorifying the classic perspective of the educationist becomes a educationist in next generation, then next generation may lose the general scope again. However, a general curriculum designed by authority can avoid this advantage at least to a certain extent.

On the other hand, in a multi-cultural country, opportunities should be given to different ethnic communities to preserve and promote their own traditional cultures. Taking China as another example, having at least fifty six different cultures, national courses are not obligatorily impacted on all ethnic communities, but the government encourages the local areas to develop other courses to prompt cultural progress. As a result, it is beneficial to grant local schools the freedom to offer students elective courses, which helps the school or the area to build its unique culture charisma.

To sum up, a nation rather than the schools in different parts of the nation should determine the national curriculum for the students while it does not mean that the local schools have no freedom to choose any course for local students. The national curriculum and local courses should keep a balance to boom the nation.

总之,写得相当不错了!
