Issue 5
Education is the fundament of the social, it is so important that we all believe the nation should take a large part in regulating, but if it means that the nation should not leave any space for the individual school or other organize to choose some own courses.
Some people insist that the nation must make sure all the students have finished same curriculum, then when they go to collage they will own same background in knowledge and ability generally. Apparently, the main advantage is helping school economize expense and make it easy to compare students’ achievement. In modern social, an obvious and major aim is to simplify, require all students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college seems a effective way to simplify teaching and examination, however, not all the simplify is perfect, especially refer to the culture.
A main principle of education by the nation is essential, which provide students necessary knowledge and ability to develop themselves and grow up as informed and productive members of society, some basic courses based on principal objective and rule such as language, mathematics, science, history and computer, that form the same education background deserve to be taken more serious. Even though, we should not ignore that exactly the special always impressed us most, the differences make us individual, we all remember some special activities rather than some ordinary classes, so it easy to image if all our curriculum are fixed by the nation, the school life would be more depressing. And it also give a chance to the school use their own resource based on local organize effective
An other question need to be discussed is which one, the nation or the educationist should determine the curriculum. Though there are exist some basic rules, in particular points, the provinces, communities, schools, parents may have their own ideas, and it always hard to make a choice. The educationist believe their opinions more valuable since they know more about the education than the bureaucrats, sometimes parents think its their duty and right to choice courses for their children, and their will should be respected too.
In the end, I have to say it is really a discussible question, and a compromise evidently more sensible than a absolute choice.
