I truly agree with the proposition of the issue that the education will not be effective unless it is specifically designed to meet the individual standard, based on their personal needs and interests. I believe that the most effective way to teach students is student-oriented education.
In the first place, the traditional method of education, which is based on teacher-oriented measure, often ignores and neglects the needs and interests of each student. In the traditional teacher-oriented education, all things the teacher done is to speak out what he or she knows about the subject being taught, and he do not pay enough attention to that whether those listeners get the point of the knowledge, or do they follow him or her closely. The teacher is main center of the classroom. This kind of education err from the main purpose of education, which should be making the students aware of different kind of profound knowledge.
In the second place, it is improper to teach so many students with just one way because the ability of predominating and understanding power of each student is so different. People, the most complex and high-grade mammals, with high intelligence quotient, are so different from one to another. For example, when I was in high school, there are twenty eight students in my class. Our math teacher taught every subject with just one way. Some of my classmates, who is a little more intelligent, thought the teaching speed is so slow and the schooling is so boring. Some others, which is not bright enough, can not follow the teacher, also thought the schooling is so boring gradually, while, the rest were listening and learning.
However, I believe that student-oriented education can most effectively involve every single individual in the learning process. There is a age-old proverb of china, which is interesting is the best teacher. I strong believe it. I will give you a example of my own. When I was a junior middle school student and start to study English, I thought way should I have to learn another kind of language which appears to hard to understand for me. It gone without saying that I did poorly in English. But when I realize I can not watch some interesting English movies unless I learn English well, I devoted myself to English. And not before long, my English was becoming much better.
Nonetheless, winking at students’ unreasonable desires would only result in chaos in education. The main purpose of education is to help the students master knowledge. We are all great-hearted young person. I have to admit that I want to play basketball; I want to smell some flesh air out side this big city; I also want to play piano. There things are much attractive for me than studying. But as a student, we should learn.
The student-oriented education is much more effective because it meet the individual needs and interests and the best teacher is interesting.
