题目：ISSUE88 -"Technologies not only influence but actually determine social customs andethics."

With the rapid development of technologies, social customsand ethics have been changed. Thus, have these technologies not only influencebut determine social customs and ethics? In my view, technologies, in someextent, influence and change social customs and ethics.

To begin with, consider the technology of communication,especially internet, which have achieved great development in this century.With the convenient modern tool, we could keep in touch with our family, talkto our friends, and take care of children on phone, even on internet instead oftraditional visiting them, face to face by ourselves. Also, we might not writeon my friend and my family because of the email. The traditional letter mightexpress more vivid emotion than the electronic tool. we can see that while thefast and convenient modern information means could save our time,  they actually change our old social customs,the customs that we meet with my parents at home together, we participate thetraditional party where we talking with our friends, and we play with our kidsand educate them being a real parent.

In addition, some new technologies would changed, evenjeopardize the social ethics. For instance, the clone technique, which canclone the people with a total same one-that is the same look, the same psychological,and the same languages. If one has been cloned on day, what about the clonedone? what is his or her society characterization? does he or she own the samerights in the society. Also, consider the hacker technology, which appears withthe internet.   With such a nettechnology the hacker in the cyber world could steal other's saving in bank,monitor people's private, and even destroy a national system about bank, power,and transportation. More worse, we still have no any law to deal with such acyber criminal case. In short, the new technologies  have, in some occasions, influenced andchanged our social customs and ethics.

Nonetheless, the social customs and ethics are alwaysdetermined by the economy and culture's level of development rather than thelatest technologies. Consider the poorest country in Africa, in which  hungry and war all the time plague everyindividual. There is no high standard social customs and ethics  but tears and sorrow. However the advancedtechnologies in these country are just a tools to win the tribute combat or suppressthe freedom of individual. On the contrary, in the developed countries such asAmerica and Europe, the high-level living quality have determine the differentsocial customs and ethics that people are great respect of individual right,great tolerance of different viewpoints and others, and great cooperation crossdiverse culture and ethnic.

In conclusion, the traditional social customs and ethicsmight be influenced, and changed by the rapid developed technologies. We shouldobligate these technologies which might undermine our social customs andethics, and embolden these which could improve them. In addition, it's theeconomy's development  that have actuallydetermined the social customs and ethics. the world should help these poorcountry and make a better world.
