Nowadays people have become more and more aware of the significance of education. Thus, it is not surprise that the issue about whether university students should be asked to take basic science classes even they are not part of the field of the study. The speaker support this issue and I agree with him. I will explore some of the essential reasons for my agreement as follows.

The main reason for my support is that to attend classes of other field of study could broaden one's view. As every can recognize, today's society require people with compound knowledge. Naturally, during school time, students could obtain various kind of knowledge if they were recommended to take classes that are not about their major. For instance, a student whose major is Chemistry could learn to operate computer if he had been asked to study computer science which is generally required by most companies. In other words, such requirement would no doubt benefit the student in the long run.


Another essential reason for my agreement is that the realms of study are not exclusively separated from each other which means students could improve their major study by study other major's knowledge It can be given a concrete example that a student who major in Landscape Architecture should obtain knowledge form the realm of Architecture, Botany, Art, Psychology and Society Science. In short, attending classes of these major are to some extend essential to the students that are studying Landscape Architecture.

Admittedly, as a proverb goes "every problem has two sides" which means inferiority always coexists with priority. When it comes to this issue, the disadvantage involves separating the students' concentration on their own field of study. In other words, a student might not have that much time to enter so many classes.

To sum up, I agree with such statement because although there may be some disadvantages, the benefits it holds are obviously outweighs its drawbacks.
