Successful people take new things and take risks rather than the thing that they've done well.(2007.3.27)

It has long been put into qualm in deciding whether the successful people would like to take the new things and risk rather than the things they have already done well. Some people think things that we are good at lead to success because they hold the belief that familiarity leads to perfect. However, in my perspective, the successful people prefer new things and risk, when considering the opportunities the risk brings and the superior personality such choices reflect.
The first reason for my assertion is that risk always coexists with opportunity. History is replete with examples, Bill Gates could be a representitive for such successful people who prefer taking risks. It is widely known that Bill Gates decided to drop from Harvard University for the reason that he predicted the extraordinary development of the computer science and the Internet in the future. Nowadays, Bill Gates has already become one of the richest and most famous figures all over the world. However, this choice means an incredible challenge for most ordinary people. Thus, taking risk sometimes leads a person to success.
Another essential factor of my opinion is that only people who hold superior characters could make the choice to meet risk and new things. On the one hand, people that are brave enough are likely to choose meeting the risk. A brave man could always beat the difficulties in his life, as a result, success will be a certain reward for him. On the other hand, people with great curiosity would like to try the new things. Einstein said:"interest is the best teacher" which means with great interest, people could learn a lot by themselves. Curiosity can breed interest and interest could drive a person to learn and ultimately achieve his goal.  
Admittedly, the advantages of doing the things we are good at cannot be denied and neglected. As an old saying goes:"practice makes perfect" which means doing the same thing again and again could lead us to achievement. This point is true when it comes to the artists, although they are familiar with the paint, they try to refine the picture several times. Consequently, a successful work has been made.
To sum up, it is true that doing the things we have already done well could sometimes lead to success. However, in my viewpoint, successful people are more likely to take the risk and try the new things not only because they holds certain advanced personalities, but also because risks bring chances.


This would be the last composition before I take the IBT in 28th.
