The speaker contends that personal economic success requires conformity over individuality. In my view, I disagree with speaker for at least two reasons. First, individuality affords people creativity. Second it provides people with diversity.  However, conformity also serves to help personal success.

In the first place, individuality which affords people creativity and diversity benefits personal economic success. Few people disagree that creativity plays a vital role in economic success.  A telling example involving Bill Gates comes into my mind. Bill Gates who is the richest man in the world depend on his creativity that programming a surprising software--Windows which helps to change the whole world. Nowadays, computers which installed with windows become necessary and indispensable tool to address amounts of business.  In other words, without Bill' creative invention, image how people today deal with amounts of business? It is hard to image, but it is no doubt that the pace of social development will slow down. Thus, such accomplishment made by Bill's creativity bring him not only fortune but also success that his company--Microsoft-- is one of the  most famous and greatest corporations in the world.  Moreover, people also benefit from diversity which result from individuality. Common sense inform us that diversity contribute to economic success. In modern society, material becomes much more abundant over its need. How to make people choose your production from the hundreds of thousands of the same ones? Undoubtedly, we need make them unique and outstanding from the same ones; In other words, what we need is diverse which help you win out from the severe competition. When yours are similar with others and with higher price, people have no reason to be attracted by yours and decide to buy them.

Furthermore, conformity owns its negative effect on personal success. Adhering to convention all the time does not suit the rapid pace of life today because there happens to be many changes in the world everyday. Consider, if one wants to earn his or her success, appealing to conventions regardless of changeable situations, one has no choice but to meet failure. Even if he or she reap higher rewards from investment than those non-conformist in short term, nevertheless, in the long run, non-conformists harvest higher rewards from investment over conformists.

Admittedly, conformity has its merits in personal success. When comes to some professions which require one to obey its regulation. Consider accounting for example. Economic success comes out not to nonconformists but to conformists for the reason that conformists address matters by standard measures or established practices, and as a result, they work more effective than nonconformists. What’s more nonconformists often cause troubles for other people in these career for breaking the cooperation and having no sharing core value which serve to help promote economic success. For example, we often hear that a famous CEO contribute his or her achievements to the power of team, whose members value group’s interests over personal ones, and conform to overall situation but to individuality. Namely, in the team, every member is just a small component, yet, assembling this necessary to personal economic success.

To sum up, the speaker overlooks the effect of individuality and overstates the force of conformity because Individuality has its merits to benefit personal success, and admittedly conformity has its negative aspects.
