I agree with the speaker's assertion.Just take a look at the history of the world,we will find a lot of examples in which people have attained success,but failed in keeping it.The underlying causes of these cases may mainly due to the wrong decision or inappropriate response of people in time of success.

    Basically,with the tremendous effort and some lucky,many people catch hold of one chance and got a success,but maybe one wrong decision will lead to utter failure.So we should know that the first success do not mean the final ones,and there are many suddenness in live,even one of which will lead to absolute failure.

    Let's take a look at the famous emperor of China-The Emperor Yuan for example.The powerful nation fiercely conquered and united most of the lands of the continent of Asia and East Europe.It is the most flourishing and powerful emperor at the time,but finally,this bloated country fell into chaos under the attack from several routes of rebels,the reason of which is the illogical caste system.Therefore,from the tragedy of Yuan we can see clearly that no matter how successful in the beginning,it do not mean the finally success.

    In addition,people always have self-complacence after a wonderful success,which is certified many times to be the beginning of failure.Complacence makes people dropping guard and ignores the dangers and tricks hidden in commonplace,or,on the other hand,missing the precious chance.
     
    The last but not the least, whatever success has been obtained, we must think of what human import it may be. The invention of atomic bomb, which is thought to be both a scientific and military breakthrough, might be a available use in every aspects of productive life. However, its use just be strictly controlled and limited to military target. The nuclear bombings in tow Japanese cities during World War 2, which killed hundreds of thousands of innocent people, might be considered as a major success and martial vitory,or as the milestones in the scientific world . But at lease in my opinion,they have prevented a lot of possibilities that could happen in the future.

In summry,people do not always focus on how to attain success but how to make the best use of it,for the latter is actually more difficult than the former one. Otherwise, even the emperor or greastest scientific invention can not keep their florious and may finally lead to devastation which is far from the meaning of “success”.
