[i习作temp] ISSUE11 Toheart互改组(cavana的作业 ) [复制链接]

TOPIC: ISSUE 11 - "All nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems."

I agree that it would serve the interests of all nations to establish such a global university at the aim of solving the world's most persistent social problems. However, there are some unavoidable elements impeding the practice of this university.

The reason I agree to the speaker is that such a university embraces students from diverse cultural and education, who will offer diverse perspectives for the solution of social problems. Students from one nation always received a similar education and have similar views, and probably ignore some flaws in their logic and considerations. With international students together, they can discover these foibles and have abundant perspectives. Moreover, on the premises of agreement of the fundamental view, discussion will be hold on in the process of making and mending the solutions. And the final decisions have more power to persuade all the nations, then benefits in decreasing political conflicts and contradictions between countries.

Further, such a global university can help students have a deeper understanding of other countries. Try to understand others is the best avenue to avoid misapprehensions and get the same principles.

the reason I consider the speaker's claim to be unfeasible is that, the gaps of different cultures and nations are, sometimes, so huge that it is hardly to find a point of balance. For instance, the wars on the west edge of Jordan last over a century. No one can release the hate piled so many years from people's mind. How do these students with absolutely different religionary beliefs come to agreement on problems relative to benefits of each other? Quarrels may always exist between them, and even more they would not like to sit down by a same table.

In addition, these students represent their own country, so they have to protect and struggle for the profit of their countries. They are not individualists, yet driven by the inherent nature character of human being. It makes the meaning of best solutions different to each country. A country ,for example want to establish nuclear power stations on its border to solve the national lack of electricity, but is opposed by its neighbor countries for their people’ health , living near the border, will be threatened by the nuclear stations. The best solution for the country is establishment of the nuclear power stations, nevertheless, for its neighbors is nothing at all. So to find a truly best solution suitable to all is not an easy mission.

On the other side, students are not politicians. They have far less power to persuade the public and no right to control the army. So the decisions and the solutions they make are possible not be put into practice. If few people adopt their ideas, the existence of this global university will lose its original value.

In sum, it is a good suggestion about the global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems. However, barricades on this way are so large to trun over and make it practical.

And the final decisions have(will abtain) more power to persuade all the nations, then benefits in decreasing political conflicts and contradictions between countries.(好象在所举的例子中,假象的结果说的太肯定(常用了完成时和现在时),不妨用将来时,或虚拟语气)

So to find a truly best solution suitable to all is not an easy mission.(suit在这里干什么的?)

第二段那句话的意思是 所有学生一起讨论出来的结果会更有说服力,会减少很多冲突和战争

religionary是religion的形容词吧 我用金山词霸查的 ,哈哈 好像word会不识别,我再查查

individualists是利己主义者, 也是用金山词霸查的。。。。

段数是得压缩一下 这样看起来很乱 :)
