Today, we live in a society whose information are easily obtained and technology are highly developed. It is a more complex world than ever in which individuals are inevitably faced with problems. However, taking a broad perspective, difficulties to our predecessors are not necessarily easier than barriers we are to break today.

In the earliest history since human appeared, the primarily issue people have consider and overcome is survival. In the time building shelters and create fires remain unknown, human being confronted such challenges as foraging, finding havens to protect them from fierce weather or raid of beasts. These surviving methods, which we modern men treat as basic and easy, were serious social problems at that time. Not definitely can we resolute former people’s puzzles if we in their position.

In a similar vein, problems up to today have focused on survival, but with more emphasis on the quality of life rather than merely staying alive. People are no longer content with enough food and warm clothes, the categories and quality of which are now highly expected. As the knowledge and experience increase, social problems become even more sharp and complex. Spread of AIDS, drug abuse, misuse of nuclear weapon, and hijacks, nightmares that threaten our daily life, have never worry our ancestors. Technology and knowledge benefit us not so much as bring us troubles.

Admittedly, knowledge and experience do help human to evolve and improve. For example, human genetic plan have hardly the chance to begin without the discovery of  DNA’ s structure – double helix by Clarke and Watson. Nevertheless, from the unknown to known, it is advanced technology, which causes modern problems, that bring solutions to modern puzzles. Knowledge developed, so does the intricacies of social problems.

As Newton said,” If I have seen farther than other man, it is because I have stood on the shoulder of giants.” We are equal when faced with nature and world. In total, the problems in different times don’t diverge intrinsically. What we have to focus on is the paradigm rather than the situation of reality.
