Topic 7: How do movies or television influence people’s behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.

Television technique and program have been rapidly developing during the past
decades since invented. This magic box enables us to lean the latest news that
happens all around the world without moving a single step. Also, we have fun in
watching the entertainment TV show. Television is becoming more and more
important in our lives by dominating our spare time, generating talking topics and
even affecting our opinion. Television influences our behavior so deeply.

First of all, we spend much more time than we expect watching TV. My whole
family sits in front of the TV set right after dinner and watch TV till the bed time.
To some extent, it has become a way of living rather than an activity of relaxation
to stare at the screen. People rarely go out for body building or gather with
friends in spare time, children no longer run and play on the playground after class. The first thing comes up in their minds is to watch TV. What I can not understand is why people still hold the remoter even the show is boring. The answer I have
got is “I am watching it to find out how boring on the earth it is”.

Secondly, television creates most of the topics of discussion among us. People are eager to share their feelings about the story they see on TV. They talk about the plot of the story, feel happy and sad about the fate of the character, and judge
the goodness of the program. A successful TV show can draw attention of the
whole society. It is said that once workers in the city threatened to take a strike if the main character dies at the end of a famous TV series. Someone may argue
that he can live without TV. But he will hardly find anyone to talk to.

Thirdly, television influences our opinions of the society and life. People who watch comedy a lot may be optimistic while those who usually see tragedy may be
pessimistic. Girls often establish the ideal standard of their boyfriends just as the
heros in the TV show. Unconsciously our personal values are influenced by the
program we watch everyday.

In conclusion, television, as well as other mass media, has great impact on our
behavior. It seizes our time, offer topics we talk about and has effect on our way
of thinking. For better or worse, this effect will become greater because of the
continuing development of the technique and no one can completely escape from being involved in it.

总的来说lz写得不错哦，观点比较新颖，就是冗长了点前两段，是不是受了aw的影响？如果是半个小时之内写出来而不是敲出来的话那是很强了哦！不过我还是建议搂住把第二段第三段压缩一下，个人认为第四段写得不错。很精简，但是意思都表达到位了。加油哦~

题个小建议，第三个分论点的论述中可以再强调下behavior

最近看了不少文章，对于how movies/television influence和what influence they give的区别和联系有些困惑，因为两者也都涉及到
人们行为的变化。请教lz和大家这个问题。
