As students we always face the circumstances: to attend classes or not. There are advantages and disadvantages on both sides. According to my personality and fondness, I would prefer to choose specific classes to attend, not all classes.
On one side, people who are for to require students to attend classes claim that teachers are experienced in teaching. They can teach students consistently as well as provide students with assistance. With a teacher, students will surely learn effectively and fast. For the second thing, a teacher is definitely the appropriate person to keep disciplines and make sure that the students complete the required tasks.
However, although there are many advantages of encouraging students to attend classes. There is no evidence to suggest that students should attend all the classes. What is more, if you see the real condition in many classes, such as an optional course, like drawing, you can understand it more deeply.
Another reason for me to choose specific classes to attend, not all classes is that learn by oneself is the primary pursue for us to attend college, one can never learn all the knowledge at a four-year time, however, the ability to learn by oneself can prepare one with great potential. Because of that, for easy lessons, students should manage by themselves.
Furthermore, it has already been proved that it is impossible to tailor an entire school’s curriculum to the individual needs of every single student. So that whether this kind of compulsory learning is effective to all is under question. However, give students the right to choose which lessons to take may be a flexible solution.
So as I see it, allowing students to take specific lessons, while not take some lessons that are not helpful to himself/herself is appropriate. Such would surely do good for students both for their schoolwork and in their later life.
