I agree with this insofar as natural factors have to do with disappearance of some species. However, I disagree with the speaker’ claim that extinction of species don’t attribute to human’s actions. Moreover, even only natural factors led to the extinction of many species, making good effort to prevent such species from extinction also seems to be meaningful for us.

Admittedly, extinction of various species might be relative to natural factors. A research showed that scientists doubtfully concluded that three major natural factors account for extinction on the earth. The first one is the “company planet”. Scientists suspected there was a company planet hided in the core of solar which could make comet rush to the earth by deflexion of the orbit of comet. The second one is interstellar cloud. This kind of interstellar cloud could cause climate change and led some species to disappear. The last one is volcano. Ashes from volcano and some kind of gases form overclothes which screen sunlight to the surface of the earth. Without high temperatures many lives die. All of these should pay more attention to study.

However, besides natural factors, human’s actions might be another reason for extinction. The world species protection union referred that there might be a total number of 11046 kinds of animals and plants face the danger of perpetual disappearance made by human beings. Those lives include 1/4 mammal, 1/8 birds, 1/4 crawl animals, 1/5 amphibians as well as 1/3 fish. One way to make species disappear is slaughters in large scale. Due to human’s greed, some slaughters happened when the species have large profits. Another way is to excess destroy environment. For example, there is an ad showed that in order to attract companies like yours, we had cut down our mountains, scoop up our bushes, rebuild our rivers and move our cities. What we had done is to make your business operate easily.   With the change and destruction of environment many species used to live in, such lives disappear.

Even extinction of species is merely caused by nature, people should try their best to save lives. As we know, human, species and nature have connected with each other by an invisible tie. And none of them could survive independently. Without nature provide species an environment to live, we might not get benefit of clean weather, healthy life. Without varieties of species we human live lonely and have limited materials to improve our quality of life. Furthermore, modern technologies and advanced methods for solving extinction need great effort and large investment. From this point of view, the investment in preventing many species from disappearing is valuable and can bring benefit for our offspring.

In sum, the speaker overstates the effect of natural factors to extinction of species and ignores the relations between natural factors and the effort. In order to solve this problem, people should invest in species protection field to decrease the chances of extinction, no matter which reason accounts for the extinction of species.
