TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."
I fundamentally agree with the speaker about the connection between effective education and individual needs and interests. As each student has one's own demand and favor, effective will bring about based on his characters. Nevertheless, I consider this way to education with the ability and economy of a country, which has better enforce in higher education or some special trainings.
Specifically designed obviously has great facets. Everyone has different interest, degree, aim of learning, time, the ability of studying, and so forth, all of the factors are constrain the design of education, contained the courses, means of teaching, the depth of context and so on. If we can meet the individual needs and interests of each student, I concede the speaker's opinion that education will be truly effective only considered the effective of education. A example, we considered, many companies, especially foreign capital companies, often invite some experts came from university or the authority of related industries who give their workers some classes mostly of operation or management. Though the payment to the specials is extremely high, the result of this kind of trainings seems great.
Albeit the effective of specifically designed education we see brings about the sweet result, when we mention about the primary and secondary education, we absolutely unsupported the speaker's notion. Does a pupil have interests and then can learn great? First, many interests of students only can last a short time that cannot last long, they really dubious their interests. We thus cannot follow interests students bring about. Secondly, young students are aimless, the progress of learning will not systematic without any instructions. Third, young students lack the capability of judgments. In sum, the way about design of education is not apply in the primary and secondary education. They definitely should learn all basic knowledge and courses, and when they grow as a adult, they also can decide what is their needs and interests.
How can achieve the level of effective? Define of effective is producing a decided, decisive, or desired effect. As a country, education is a capitals thing related the young's future, so education needs amount of investment. On the condition of lacking education sources like teachers and schools, especially designed education absolutely waste a lot cherish sources only for small part of students. Some researches show that Top 10 universities in USA can offer a professor to 10 students, unfortunately, many universities cannot reach that lever. Education sources seems lacking very much, specifically designed seems unpractical and ineffective.
In sum, we should clearly analyze what is effective, and what is reality, and clearly classify the different aim of different education phases. We should make decision on case-by-case basis. |
