1.首先，通识教育非常地重要。在教育的初级阶段，学生应该被教以一些基本的通识课程

Education, one of the key words of our time, is of great importance, without which neither freedom nor justice can be permanently maintained. Everyone is required to receive an education, if not, he will be regarded as an unfortunate victim of adverse circumstances, deprived of one of the greatest twentieth-century opportunities. Convinced of the importance of education, people have been always looking for the most effective way of learning to get back interest in the form of a large group of enlightened young men and women, on whom the nation's future is placed. Commonly, the ways of education are distinguished as general education and specifically individual education. The author asserts that only when the education is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, can we achieve the truly effective way of education. However, education, as complicate and abstruse as it is, will be greatly flourished, if we can combine the two ways of education together soundly.

As for the general education, it is designed to meet the basic needs of pupil when they are in elementary school, through which they learn the rudimental faculties, such as literacy, mathematics, basic logic, geography, humanity and so on. Then, based on these, they can cultivate and pursue their interest as they are roaming in the immense sea of knowledge. It is more like building a large mansion, without the foundations, the great building would never be completed. By grasping the basic tools of study, he will not be out of date and will get his individual development perfectly.

When we take a look at the specifically individual education, which is expressly designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each students, is of equal significance with the general education. It is more appropriate when is applied for the high grade education. As their cognitions of things become more thoroughly, their scopes of knowledge become widen, their interests in something become more clear and definite, and then by receiving particular education, they would benefit effectively on their individual development and exhibit great talent in the days after. Nowadays, our universities are framed to meet individual interests. A student, who is inclined to have more interest in physical phenomenon, then, he can enter the Departments of Physics; as for a student, favored in the dancing and something like that, will find his way in the Dancing department. Everyone in college can find his own appropriate place for their future development through specifically individual education.

Emphasize placed particularly on education as in different stage. As for the fostering of very young students, the general education must be put in the first place; while for high grade students, the specifically individual education must take precedence over the general education. If we take the extreme ways, there will be deleterious results. On one side, if students are brought up according to their interests all along, we need to consider primarily whether it can be regarded as an interest, or it is just a short-lived fanaticism. As their comprehension of things are superficial at the young level, they may change their target along the way of study, and do not persist in the very definite pursuit of their interests, then they will get nothing eventually. On the other side, if all the students are cultivated the general education, then the people will just the same in their future, there will be no difference among them. What a serious situation we will face, which will definitely hamper the sound development of our society.

In conclusion, as for the truly effective way of education, we call for a balance between the general education and the specifically individual education, which will promise a thriving and prosperous future of our human progress.
