Technology has inserted in every corner of modern society. It seems that with better technology, things must do quicker than before so that workers can spend less time to solve problems and have more time for rest. However, the truth is that with more efficient equipment a worker has to do much more work than before. It is not the failure of the improvement of technology, because the phenomenon is caused by the endless requirement of humanity.

The accomplishment of a new project with scientists work is a thing worth to celebrate, because a new technology can lead workers using less time on finishing an commodity, or a new material can help people spending less time on changing and washing clothes, or a new arms can improve the army's fortification in the world so the country is more proper to live. But the result of these improvements leads a more crazy competition on technology. Other researchers have to accomplish a better solving method at less time on the same project mentioned above to attract market. More labors start doing works on the project, in the same time range as before, but finish more works. At the same time, the companies using old technology face the situation of closing; its employees turn to loss job and have a sad future. It’s the competition in the modern society and these all caused by the improvement of technology and science.

The most amazing invention in the twentieth century is the computer. No one can ignore its convenience and efficiency both on works and normal time. But we may ignore that it quickly eats almost all people's leisure time no matter you are a scientist or a labor work. We can find that with the help of computer, now, we need not to calculate all the addition, subtraction, multiplication, division by ourselves only more, administrators can easily find the data and record by knocking on the keyboard, and information can be translated by computers not by mail workers’ walking. Computers instead of most people’s work, are there more leisure time for people now? On the other hand, we find that the hero in the computer world Bill Gate has no time to catch up a piece of cheque with millions dollar on it.  Chemical scientists are hurried to use new computers to compute the structure of a more complex molecule, and their work can not over in a short time because the “more complex” is too simple to nature. Employees in the banks can no longer spend so many times on searching information from the verse desk, but they should handle the endless output and input in all 24 hours a day in the computer. By the describing, how could we say more leisure time we got from computer.

But it is not mean the society hate technology, in contrast, modern society need technology. Surely, one day, when the improvement of technology satisfied all people's material and mind equipment, just like the Utopia’s society, at last. Then, technology can give a more leisure world to humanity.
