Can the scandals be useful ,for they can focus on our attention on problems in ways that no speaker or reformer ever could as the speaker assert? I foundationally agree with the speaker, however, we can not overlook the disadvantage of the scandals.

First of all, the scandals are beneficial in exposing some social problems, which can be drawn to be solved under the focus and press. The problems that are concealed under the seemingly flourishing phenomenon, when it comes to the scandals, will remind and spur the further thinking, and take a series of constructions to make up or solve the problem when it comes to the scandals. An apt example is about the scandals of Enron Corporation, energy and commodities trading company, due to accounting fraud. In this case, as public became to focus on the shortcoming of the audit system, the new legislation has been passed. Thanks to the scandals, the leak of the accounting will be have been focused on and solved so soon, or it may be delayed.

Secondly, the scandals are beneficial for the public to surveil the act of the government, in turn, the government officials, especially the president, will use their power so carefully under such scrutiny, or their reputation may probably be diminished. Take the Watergate case as an example, this scandals leads to the resignation of the president Nixon who was accuse to use unjust measures to elect the president, for the press ion of the public and the congress. Furthermore this scandal warns the president after to avoid doing such things, and the government in some case cannot withhold to the public.

The bankruptcy of a famous wine company of my hometown can be taken as an example aptly. There is a process in making this wine by mixing a small amount of the other ordinary wines, which is common sense in the wine-production experts while many of the consumers lake of the knowledge of such expertise, However when the media reports this as a scandals, the sales of the wine dropped down, and finally bankrupt, although some measures like the explanation, had been taken..

In sum, the without the scandals the social will be slowed down the step of development .and over rely on the scandals will sometimes lead to misleading. In short ,we must look for a balance of truth of the scandals or not.
