ISSUE    70
"In any profession—business, politics, education, government—those in power should step down after five years. The surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership."

The speaker asserts that those in power should step down after five years insofar as that the surest path to success for any enterprise is revitalization through new leadership. I totally disagree with the speaker: for one thing, there are other effective paths to make any profession revitalization; for the other, changing the leadership might not be surely to lead to success as the speaker claims.

Admittedly, changing the leadership provides a possible choice for keeping the profession animate; however, other more effective paths may be put in practice, such as employing more young college graduates or changing the management of the old leaders. The explanation goes as follows:

On the one hand, young college graduates are, as known to all, more creative and passionate as a result of their brave heart and desire for success. In order to exhibit their talent and to win their honor from colleagues, they positively pose what in their mind are well-conceived proposals, which is to some extent creative and original, although a bit immature. After this, there will be a hot debate to call attention and supporting of their efforts, and at last, they would make every effort and associate with others passionately to bring their proposal into effect. Their participant, I believe, will arouse the caution of others to work harder to keep their seat and thus lead to a scene of active working.

On the other hand, changing the management of the leaders will bring equal effectiveness to keep their employees active. For one compelling example: Ken Livingstone, president and CEO of N.Y.C, a well-known and distinguished company in Wisconsin, once said to media that his company survived from the lately depression largely as a result of his changing in the management conception which boost the inspirit of his employees. The leaders’ management conception plays a crucial and pivotal role in the development of any profession, and can equally enhance the revitalization.

What is more, would the new leadership lead to the success of the profession, as the speaker claims? It depends. There are myriad of precedents to support what I say: the breakdown as a result of the new president’s measure of adjusting the interest rate of the HuaXia Bank, a previous well-known business bank, reflects that the new leader will make more mistake in their work based on the facts that they are absent of experience, insight, and skills, all of which are part-and-parcel for the survival of the profession. In short, changing the leadership will possibly do more harm than good to any profession—business, politics, education, government.

In sum, I strongly disagree with what the speaker asserts. In my view, among many effective paths to keep the profession active, employing more young college graduates full of passion or adjusting the management conception are equally effective, compared with the path the speaker claims. In addition, in some situations, new leadership may make negative consequence to the profession.

On the one hand, young college graduates are, as known to all, more creative and passionate as a result of their brave heart and desire for success. In order to exhibit their talent and to win their honor (admire) from colleagues, they positively pose what in their mind are well-conceived proposals, which is to some extent creative and original, although a bit immature. After this, there will be a hot debate to call attention and supporting of their efforts, and at last, they would make every effort and associate with others passionately to bring their proposal into effect. (结构很好,而且例子新颖,如果分析能再深入点就更好了)

for you

For one compelling example: Ken Livingstone, president and CEO of N.Y.C, a well-known and distinguished company in Wisconsin, once said to media that his company survived from the lately (lately是副词current)depression largely as a result of his changing in the management conception which boost the inspirit( inspiration)of his employees. The leaders’ management conception plays a crucial and pivotal role in the development of any profession(occupation), and can equally enhance the revitalization.

In short, changing the leadership will possibly do more harm than good (benefits)to any profession—business, politics, education, (and)government.

In sum, I strongly disagree with what the speaker asserts. In my view, among many effective paths to keep the profession active, employing more young college graduates full of passion or adjusting the management conception are equally effective, compared with the path the speaker claims. In addition, in some situations, new leadership may (actually)make negative consequence to the profession(in some extent).(may make 好像少后文)
