题目：ISSUE 17 - "There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."

The speaker claims that one should obey just laws and disobey and resist unjust laws. It seems to justical to resist the unjust laws, however, the result of that behavior is dangerous. In other word, we should obey those just laws and should resort to legal measures to overthrow the unjust laws.

Law is the fundamental construction of a democratic society as well as the precondition of the stability and equality of a nation. Law is used to judge and punish crimes and protect the civil rights of citizenery as well. As ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle once said: " Law is order, and good law is good order." Every citizen should act in accordance with the regulations and carry out the fixed obligations. Moreover, in order to protect populace interests and security, law should functions well in pubnishing those who ace against laws. Without law, our society would be trapped into disorder and chaos. Therefore, it is our obligation to reverence nation's law while in defiance of law would deter the nation’s interests..

In order to remain just, the development of law should keep abreast of the advancement of times. As Thoman Jefferson told us: " No society can make a perpetual constitution, and even a perptual law."  Since the pace of the development of our society is accelerating, many new circumstances and concepts have appeared. Under this condition, antiquated law would be less likely to deal with the newer problems. One need look no further than the application of euthanasia. To deprive others’ lives is widely held as illegal and criminal behavior, however, euthanasia is now legitimate in many countries. Because peaceful death is the most helpful choice to the cureless patients  who would not endure the affliction any further. Therefore, under the new times, doctors should help their patients with euthanasia and these behaviors should never be judged guilty.     

When facing unjust laws, we should resort to the legitimate measures to cancel the unjust law rather than disobey and resist blindly. As ordinary citizen in society, we have the privilege to supervise the constitutional systems, which is investitive by the democratic society. And that does not mean we could optionally disobey and resist the laws, sicne these behavior would bring about chaos or even wars between different interest groups. By contrast, through the peaceful measures, the problems should be settled down more effectively. One apt illustration of that point is the American balcks in protecting their civil rights. As we know, at that time, blacks were confined to positions of second class citizenship by restrictions and customs. In order to protect their legal rights as American citizens, blacks resort to media and other peaceful means to fight with the unjust restricitions. Today Black Americans have federal legislation which provides access and legal protection in the areas of public accommodations, housing, voting rights, schools, and transportation. By contrast, if blacks simply disobey and resist unjust treatment, there must be violence, imprisonment and death wating for the democratic society.

In summery, defying and resisting unjust laws means sacrifice and disorder, which would do nothing but in vain. In democratic society, obeying laws is our civil obligation, at the same time carrying out the rights to protect our interests from aggrieving under legal method do favor not to ourselves but our society.
