Is the beginner is more likely than the expert to make important discoveries? I agree insofar with this viewpoint. Actually, in many fields, innovation is created by beginner, especially in those rapidly development realms---- such as science and pure art. However, the expert still play a vital role in their realms due to their abundance experiments.

When it comes to modern science, the beginner has much energy and vigor so that they can not be restrained by the old thought and approach and probably discovery some new matters. The typical example is computer science, in which a large number of innovations are created by newbie. The famous operating system "Linux" was programming by even an undergraduate from Finland. Although the kernel of Linux is root in another operating system named UNIX, it still become a good choice of operating system and even shakes the position of Windows of Microsoft. This success should attribute to the unlimited thought and idea of the beginner, if without these new idea, the Linux would does not appear in several years ago.  

Another realm is the pure art. Owing to demand creative thought, the development of art needs many young to make important innovation and discoveries. Mozart, one of the famousest musicians over the world, makes great achievement in composition even when he was a child. Many his famous works were produced on his childhood when he had little music knowledge. Comparing some expert of music, Mozart's attribution of music was far more than them when he was a beginner. Thus, the beginner's idea is vital to field of art because of their vigor and creation.

Yet, in many other realms, the experts still have important and positive affect. The expert, after all, possesses mass experience so as to orient better direction and avoid some fault. For instance, the development of literature relies on the old writer and scholar. Since they have longer life experience than the beginner, in this case, their more tasting of life make him more profound study in literature. Almost every greatest writer in history was important exports in their time and they also created some new literal fashion and discoveries. Hence, to some extent, experts do improve new discovery and progress in many fields.

To sum up, beginner and expert have different characteristic-- the former is more vigor and the later is more experienced. The beginner could make important discovers in many field of inquiry, and the expert still have significant effect in some realms. In my view, the beginner should learn more experiences from expert; meanwhile, the expert should alse communicate with the beginner so as to obtain new idea. If so, the kownledge and inspiration may serve as an efficient and effective way when they work together.
