c 迅速判断症状并找到解决的办法似乎更重要，人员的医护能力
d 此外 医院的卫生条件，设备的先进， 也很重要。




The argument is not cogent as it bases its conclusion that man are more susceptible to fainting when visit the dentists on ambiguous statistics and unfairly exclude other reasons of faint except distress. Besides, it is specious in the plan of propaganda.

To begin with, the statistics collected from dentists is flawed in several critical aspects. Firstly, the result which shows that the number of men who faint is three times that of women is too vague to support the argument in that it lacks the total number of the men patients and the woman patients. It is quite possible that there are three times more men patients than women patients who were collected by the dentists. If so, man has the same chance of suffering faint as woman. Secondly, there is no statistics about the age, background of the patients. Perhaps, the men recorded by the dentists are almost senior citizens whose health condition are weaker than the average and cannot represent the majority, while the women collected are the teenager or young who have almost sounded health. If that matter, the statistics is more invalid than credible.


Even if the aforementioned statistics truly reflected the situation, the author confused the stated correlation with causation. To be more specific, even if man are more likely to fain than are woman, we cannot conclude that it is because man are more likely to distressed about having dental work. There are many reasons for faint, not only the distress. Perhaps the side effects of the anesthetic or other clinic odor accidentally contribute to the faint; or perhaps some women are more distressed than man but are not likely to faint. Without ruling out these alternative reasons, it is unfair to draw the conclusion hastily.


Even if we ignore all the flaws mentioned above, the advertisement campaign that targets the male consumer and emphasize both the effectiveness of the anesthetic techniques and the sensitivity of their staff to nervous of suffering patients is even ungrounded. On the one hand, it is ridiculous to target the male consumers on the basis that man is more likely to suffer from faint. It is possible that the female patients are more susceptible to ailment related to the teeth as they prefer the sweets which is not suitable for the healthy teeth. It is also possible that women are more likely to be influenced by the advertisement and pay more attention to the information related to dentists, while men seldom care about the detail information about the dentists in advertisement but their own judgment when visit the dentists. On the other, the sensibility of the staff to the suffering of patients has little to do with the ease of the pain and even reduce the efficiency when the patients are treated for their slower speed of operation. Moreover, the anesthetic techniques are far more enough to judge qualified dentists. In fact, average consumers would pay more attention to the capacity of the dentists to analysis the reason of the illness and to find the corresponsive treatment.

Finally, the speaker ignores other vital factors of a good dental clinic such as the facility, the sanitation, and the overall service. For instance the clinics which are better equipped with the advanced technology and are more conscious of their sanitary environment of treatment, as well as provide a quality service has more charm than its competitors.

In sum, the speaker fail to provide us with convincing reasons for the advice of the advertisement campaign and base its conclusion of the difference of fain between man and women on the vague statistics.
