结构清晰:)
Education nowadays has always been highlighted since the whole population(这个词感觉不太合适,我觉得用people就可以了)expect through education, the society would be benefited and future development would be secured. Here the author holds if the individual needs and interests of each student can be met, they will be effectively educated. While students might be motivated by their distinct interests, the education might not be effective according to the current level of resources of education.
To begin with, interests are of much importance in the process of learning. Common sense tells us that when people are interested in something new, he would devote a great deal of energy, intellectual (intellect) and time to learn it. And the effect he learns(of his learning) would be much better, compared with that of learning the knowledge he is not interested at all. A famous example is about the father of Darwinism, Darwin. When Darwin entered college, his major is theology. But out of interests, he spent all of his spare time to listen to biological(biology) lectures, read books of biology and participate in the biological(biology) classes. It was interests that motivated him to overcome kinds of difficulties, made him informed of large quantities of biological knowledge and even encouraged him to go aboard to investigate the nature. After several years of hard work, the new great theory Darwinism was born, which in a large part was the fruits of his interests. Therefore, if school could take into consideration the specific needs and interests of students, they would stand a chance to fully develop their distinct potential and talent. And in such an educational(education) system, students, feeling centered and appreciated, will be more motivated to study.
However, on the basis of current educational resources, the effect of this envision could not be realized. Consider on the one hand there have been hundreds of thousands categories of knowledge and skills in modern society. Take the arts for example. There is fine art, performing art, music, visual art, literature and so on. And in the field of literature there are also many tiny kinds: story, verse, poem and so on. Different fields would need various teachers and facilities to help students to learn. On the other hand, present resources of education are so limited that to meet the individual needs and interests of each students might be impossible. For instance, in some areas of China, many children are not able to go to school because of poverty. In this situation, their interests such as boxing, Golf, violin would be hardly met. Even, they do not know these fields' existence. If so, how can they become interested in something they do not know at all.(感觉有点跑题了) From this point, to meet the individual needs and interests of each student for the purpose of realizing the truly effective education is impossible as it stands.
Moreover, learning what they are interested in would make them lack of the necessary knowledge required. In the foregoing discussion, we know that in some places, there are not enough resources to provide for the students' interests. Yet even if in the developed countries, each student's needs and interests can be met, this idea may not bring about a truly effective education. The end purpose of education is to learn to know, to learn to do, to learn to get together, and to learn to be, as raised in the UN.(引用得不错,而且相当于为下文的论证作了一个纲领,不过后三个to应该要去掉) With this purpose, students should be educated to own(have) the ability to adapt to society and different circumstances. But, if students just learn the knowledge and skills they are interested in without the necessity to learn what does not interest him, or what seem to be of no apparent help to their future careers, their knowledge systems would be incomplete and unbalanced. For example, if a student just studies the subject of computer which would guarantee him a nice job in future, but does not learn any language, mathematics and physics, it is quite possible that not only can he not blend into society to find a job, but also his interested computer subject might become rather difficult to learn because he lacks the basic language skills to understand, express, and record, and the knowledge of mathematics that is needed for computer science's learning.(把数学当例子不太合适,因为对计算机感兴趣,必然要学好数学的吧) Therefore, only learning what is interested in could not make an effective education.(既然前面提出四个learn to,最好每个点都简略展开一下,或是笼统展开陈述,lz后两个好像没有说到)
In sum, to some extent, interests can motivate students' learning.(最好在这个地方转折,加一句话把倒数第二段也总结一下,然后把后面的however改成morever,形成转折的递进) However, without appropriate educational(education)plan and enough resources, only to meet what students are interested in and need would be a kind of waste for the present educational(education) system.
