When it comes to the question that whether tradition and modernization are compatible or not, people always have the opinion that tradition and modernization are just like oil and vinegar, which are not consistent with each other. Under some circumstance, it is true that one must choose between tradition and modernization as the author assert. However, I still believe that the relationship between tradition and modernization vary from case to case and it is possible for us to settle this issue in a suitable way.
I acknowledge that there is a great gap between tradition and modernization and in some cases they are incompatible. When referring to tradition, people always think of outmodedness, stereotype, old--fashioned conventions and customs, or even fetish and superstition, and then they will approve of modernization---adventurousness, development and innovation. For example in China, people always compare two types of girls---traditional girl girls and modern girl ones. Traditional girlsThe former, who have a tender and sensitive heart, are always principled and scrupulous; while a modern girl is the latter are unconstrained and with an open heart who wants to try all new things in vogue, stylish way可以直接放在先行词的后面.
Still, when talk about some other part, tradition and modernization cannot totally separate with from each other. For example in architecture field, the traditional architecture exists with the modern architecture in harmony可以放在with前面 in most places now. Beijing is a historic city well known for its cultural heritage. It traces its origins back to 3000 years ago, and it was the capital of five dynasties. Meanwhile, as the center of political, cultural, educational and scientific activities in modern China, Beijing strengthens its leading role day by day. In this city, you can see both traditional architectures and modern ones and don’t feel anyany 修饰形容词? discomfortable. People there achieve a balance between them 指代不明which make Beijing a different太笼统 place with special features.
In ordinary social lives, tradition directs the modern behaviors in some way. Tradition contains the experience of people handling the relationship with nature and society. It is the product of history which means it is an eternal phenomenon. When people meet the new problem or the different environment, they have to deal with affairs based on the tradition and at the same time going beyond the rule and standard of tradition, which means modernization. There is no clear borderline between tradition and modernization on this case. Modernization, which is a kind of anamorphosis of tradition on this issue ,meets the demand of the new generation and help them fulfill their goal.
In academic field, the born 这是形容词of the modern theory is nearly all based on the traditional one whether it is to turn over the old one or to develop it. The famous scientist Newton said, “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” The development of modern theory is the improvement or the innovation of the traditional theory. For example, nowadays in medical science, we can try various kinds of operations which all develop from the first anatomy experiment in 18th century. Without that young scientist tried the first anatomy method on the dead body, the whole modern surgical theory might not exist in the world today.
In sum, the issue claimed by the author is reasonable in some parts of our lives. However, in some other parts there is no clear line between tradition and modernization and people always cannot make their choice or they might choose both. In my opinion, tradition and modernization make up the society, and without each of them, our society would not be integral and the best way is to make use of them in proper way ways then we might gain the best result.
总体来说,这篇文章论证,结构和语言都不错,能改动的地方不多.
