I agree with the assertion with my own reservations. The author declares that a public official, who want to be an effective leader, should keep high ethical and moral standards always in his mind. I do agree with the statement, yet, it is not enough.

First of all, it is no denying that ethical and moral are two essential factors to a public officials to be an effective leader. The unethical or immoral characters, such as greedy, selfishness,dishonesty, are fatal fro a public official to be an effective leader due to the fact that one with these weaknesses is easy to be influenced by allurements like fortune, authority and so forth. Simply put, the leader of your city. Ifthe leader is selfishness or greedy, what would city residents do when they mention this leader? One thing can be confirmed is that the leader hardly obtain supports and trusts of city residents let alone help his to do job effectively.So, we cannot expect a public official with ethical or moral flaws trend to bean effective leader.

Secondly, many people, myself included, itis not enough for an effective leader own high ethical and moral standards merely. An effective leader should know how to release himself during his leisure times. As an old saying: all work and no relax makes Jack a dull boy.This is to illustrate the opinion that every person, especially en effective leader, should not work all of his time, but to have release occasionally.Gates, the most effective leader in the world, earn large fortune in every second. He said that he spends some time on Internet every morning before he go to work as have more information and release himself from strength life style to have an efficiency work. In brief, an excellent and effective leader is not the sign of working all day without any pause.

Moreover, a superior leader also has to learn the skill that hearing from public. Set Clinton as an example. As we know, President Clinton made a mistake relevant to a scandal, which is enough makes him lose authority and anything he has. However, he keeps on holding the post fortunately in respect that he is good at communicating with populace and taking their proper advises. This method help he win public’ trust and appreciate. In brief,we should not fail to take into account the fact that listen public respectfully can really good to a leader.

To draw a conclusion, ethical and moral are indispensable factors for a public official, as well have capability of release during heavy work and communicate with public can make official to be an effective leader.
